My first SoCal home sale is now IN ESCROW! It's funny how life works out but a little while back I did a trip down to LA and simultaneously helped a first time homebuyer to get her dream house. After researching resales for hours prior to the trip, I realised that for her, a new build was going to give her a much better home at a less expensive price. She also was going to get closing cost credits to reduce her savings needed to buy the home. The market is extremely intense r...ight now for homebuyers in the Bay Area. We are seeing homes sell in the space of 2 days, showings getting filled within hours of listing the home on the MLS and sales prices are 100's of thousands above the list price. The Bay Area housing market is booming and I'm feeling worried for people who were once able to purchase a house, who now are getting out priced. New builds are a fantastic option and in certain home types and areas, you can get into a brand new home in the space of a few months, without having to bid so far over list price and without having to battle 100 other buyers just to see the home.
