We’re currently in the longest economic recovery in U.S. history. That has caused some to ask experts to project when the next economic slowdown (recession) could occur. Two years ago, 67% of the economists surveyed by the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) for the Economic Forecasting Survey predicted we would have a recession no later than the end of this year (2020). The same study done just three months ago showed more than one th...ird of the economists still saw an economic slowdown right around the corner. The news caused concern among consumers. This is evidenced by a recent survey done by realtor.com that shows 53% of home purchasers (first-time and repeat buyers) currently in the market believe a recession will occur by the end of this year. ! . Now, in an article earlier this month, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) revealed only 14.3% of those economists now believe we’re in danger of a recession occurring this year (see graph): , The U.S. expansion, now in its 11th year, will continue through the 2020 presidential election with a healthy labor market backing it up, economists say. This optimism regarding the economy was repeated by others as well. , : Just months after almost everyone on Wall Street worried that a recession was just around the corner, Goldman Sachs said a downturn is unlikely over the next several years. In fact, the firm’s economists stopped just short of saying that the U.S. economy is recession-proof. ’: When Barron’s gathers some of Wall Street’s best mindsas we do every January for our annual Roundtablewe expect some consensus, some disagreementBut the 10 veteran investors and economists who convened in New York on Jan. 6 at the Barron’s offices agree that there’s almost no chance of a recession this year. : The U.S. economy is heading into 2020 at a pace of steady, sustained growth after a series of interest rate cuts and the apparent resolution of two trade-related threats mostly eliminated the risk of a recession. Robert A. Dye, Chief Economist at Comerica Bank: I expect that the U.S. economy will avoid a recession in 2020. There probably won’t be a recession this year. That’s good news for you, whether you’re looking to buy or sell a home. Karen Fairty cell: 415.717.7586 [email protected] DRE 01265414

Thought this was pretty interesting and even though not related to real estate, it’s advancement. Immune cells found to target a cancer-ubiquitous protein called MR1 that recognizes vitamin B2 derivatives. Identifying proteins on the surface that identify cancer cells, but not normal ones, will allow the engineering of immune cells to kill them. Or be vaccinated against them so cancers can't hide.... It could lead to pan-cancer immunotherapies & vaccinations for cancer in all individuals. Yes, it's early but promising. See more

This pilot program is intended to improve public safety for Marin’s residents. The effort should also be beneficial in helping reduce the risk of future damage to private property and public infrastructure across the county. #MarinCounty #MarinHomeowners

In 1963, Martin Luther King, Jr. led and inspired a powerful movement with his famous I Have a Dream speech. Through his passion and determination, he sparked interest, ambition, and courage in his audience. Reflecting on his message encourages many of us to think about our own dreams, goals, beliefs, and aspirations. For many Americans, one of those common goals is owning a home: a piece of land, a roof over our heads, and a place where our families can grow and flourish. ...Continue reading

Yesterday morning, Fire Chief Jason Weber came and spoke to us on Measure C during our weekly Vanguard meeting. Voting Yes on C the Marin Wildfire Prevention Measure will help protect Marin from the very real threat of wildfire. With longer, hotter and drier fire seasons combined with Marin’s abundant natural vegetation that could fuel a wildfire, we’ve been fortunate to date. ... Wildfire can start in one place and quickly spread. Even if your property is fire safe, you may be at risk if adjacent properties or communities are not fire safe. Destructive and fatal wildfires in Sonoma, Paradise and elsewhere have taught us that we must be proactive to prevent wildfires and save lives and protect our environment during fire emergencies.
