Travel Thursday One of fascinating benefits of working with people is hearing about their travels and adventures. Today we are following Kristi and the 2017, 12 day itinerary, she shared from a trip to Spain. Costco Travel was used to book flights, hotels, and tours - flying into Barcelona and departing from Madrid with train connections in between. Tours in Barcelona - Sagrad Familia, Barcelona Palau de al Music Catalana, Dali Museum. Tours in Madrid - Toledo and Segovia ...Guided Day tour, Prado Museum, Madrid Sightseeing, Madrid Tapas Night Walking tour. Sevilla tours - Granada Day Trip, Museo del Baile Flamenco, Monumental Seville, and Santa de la Sede cathedral. Looks like a full 12 days! She raved that the trip was fabulous! I'm ready to go - how about you?

Travel Thursday If you happen to find yourself driving south of Reno on CA Highway 395 between Bridgeport and Mono Lake, stop by and take a look at one of our favorite spots, Bodie CA. Now a ghost town and historical state park, Bodie was once considered one of the largest and fastest growing towns in California. In 1876 gold was discovered transforming the mining camp into a Wild West boomtown in less than 3 years. By 1915 it was considered a ghost town and, in 1961, was d...esignated a National Historic Landmark. Now a fantastic step back into the past and photographers dream for unique photos, Bodie delights the imagination of days gone by. Travel Thursday Don't we all have a bucket list for places to go......someday! One that has been on my list for a couple years is Santa Fe New Mexico. I fell in love with a B&B viewed on line recently and would love to stay at least a couple nights. Its called Inn of the Turquoise Bear. There are 9 guest rooms and each have an artist and historical theme. My pick would be the Georgia O'Keefe room as I am a fan of her art since the 80's. You can check out the other rooms... at https://www.turquoisebear.com and of course they have a Facebook page. There are lots of festivals and events in Santa Fe. I would love to go when International Folk Art Festival is on in July or the Indian Market in August. Might want to tie the visit into the Albequerque Balloon Festival in October. Makes me smile just to type about it. Maybe I should just plan to stay in the area for 3-4 months. PERFECT IN SO MANY WAYS! MAKE IT YOURS?

Travel Thursday is back! Hard to believe its been nearly 3 weeks already since we returned from a little jaunt to Europe. Most of the trip was spent in Bavaria - Southern Germany with a couple days each in France, Italy, and Austria. We need to go back! Soon! ... Paris is at the top of the list! So awesome to spend 2 days there for a quick overview of what to do next time. Our introduction included a city tour on board a open top, double decker bus with an audio guide providing quick views and history of major destinations for eager tourists. Next time Paris will absorb at least a week to satisfy the curiosity to explore the major landmarks and discover the quaint restaurants and shops on the lighter traveled streets. Make your plans to go too! Bonjour! Word of Caution - Big City, Fast Hands! 30 minutes after arriving in Paris from the Bullet train, we were on a very busy subway headed to the hotel. Hands full with luggage and maps - tourist was stamped on our foreheads. A well-dressed young man bumped into me, then banged into Steve and tried to head out the door at one of the stops. Steve realized this man grabbed his wallet from a cargo pant pocket. Steve pinned him up against the doors before he escaped so he dropped the wallet and dashed. wheeeeewwwwww, that could have been ugly. Watch your valuables! Zipped up in front of you is best.
