Teaching your tiny people doesn’t mean sitting down with books or flash cards or drilling information in. It starts with giving them information as you go about... your day. I sent this to a parent yesterday but thought about how many people might be able to use this info for their little people. I get feeling like there’s no time to set aside but these are things you can incorporate in your daily routine. Hey there hope all is well with you and your family. A few ways to build their confidence as well as focus: Talk to them about EVERYTHING within your power. When eating let them know what foods they’re eating. Instead of saying eat eat call food by it’s name by saying do you like your carrots or do you want more chicken? You can even answer back so they can hear different types of responses. Point out the colors in the room, on their clothes and all around. Point out shapes and numbers throughout the day. Count the number of steps it takes to get from one room to another, talk about the tires on cars and bikes being circles and windows being rectangular. When getting dressed talk about the left and right parts of the body and even talk about body parts; hands feet shoulders and so on. They also love to pretend cook so letting them pour and mix in the kitchen will do wonders. Call them helpers and let them put things in the garbage and even rinse things off in the sink. All of these things will create a solid foundation for learning and give them a fighting chance at retaining as much knowledge as possible, as well as gain self awareness leading to self control.
