Coming to the K911 Clubhouse on Monday, June 15th, at 4:30pm -- we have a special SOLO ACT!Introduced by her foster Mom, Jackie Fiame - Meet sweet little Onyx, the little Halloween baby. Onyx is a beautiful panther-like, silky black kitty. Onyx loves to play with her foster siblings so another kitty friend is a must. She also loves sunbathing. She can be a little shy if you approach her, but if you sit or lay down, she will approach you and want to cuddle snuggle and will pur...rrr endlessly. Onyx will require a 1/2 steroid tablet daily to help treat pemphigus foliaceous. It sounds bad but really it’s just an autoimmune disorder that manifests in scab-like bumps in her ears, under her chin and sometimes above her eyes. But she has been doing wonderfully on the meds. Unfortunately, in order to confirm that’s what she had, they had to do a skin biopsy. I had not considered asking where they would take skin from. Well, as you can see, it came from the tip of her right ear. But as Kathy Cabrera says, it gives her street cred, LOL!!!

Chippie was found on the freeway with a broken leg and injured tail. Fix Our Ferals amputated the tip of her tail and ordered limited movement and bed rest for Chippie’s broken leg. Her tail tip amputation went great- and once the hair grows back you won’t even notice it’s just a teeny bit shorter. This lovable girl is determined to walk again, and she’s showing her recovery buddy, Paver, to never give up. After seeing our post about Quintus, Humane Society of the North Bay contacted K911 about this sweet girl. Their vet had determined that Toph would need both eyes removed due to severe infection; not only did they need help with medical costs, but also with finding a foster experienced with a special needs kitty. The day after her surgery, she was brought into K911 Animal Rescue. Toph adjusted quickly and has not let her special needs hinder her curiosity. Within an hour of... being home, she had climbed to the top of her play pen and was demanding attention. Toph’s favorite activity is to cuddle with her foster mom, right next to her face. She loves to hear people talk to her and give kisses, and will reach out to touch their face with her paws. Her second favorite activity is eating- she loves all the yummy scents from both cat and human food! Toph is not afraid to climb- but she is still learning how to get back down! She is a very smart girl, and catches on quickly to the techniques her mom is teaching her to conquer the world. Stay tuned for Toph’s adventures and triumphs! Your contributions help us save more animals like Toph. Though they may lose an eye, a leg, or a tail, they gain another chance at a happily ever after. #NoPawsLeftBehind #RescueDoneRight #K911ToTheRescue #EveryPawMatters #SpecialCauseForSpecialK911Paws Venmo: @K911AnimalRescue (code: 0678) PayPal: [email protected] Tax ID: 47-2974220

Graphic photos- QUINTUS UPDATE! Thank you to everyone who donated and made surgery possible for Quintus! The vet believes there’s a chance his left eye could recover with continued medication, so we opted to continue working towards that and only removed his right eye. Quintus spent the last week minimizing his movements: he never played, he barely ate, and he retreated from people. After surgery today, we thought he would be groggy from sedation, but he was the kitten he... always wanted to be! He scarfed up food, he ran around playing with all the toys previously left untouched by him, he annoyed his sisters and tried to get them to play with him. THIS is why we try so hard; THIS is why we fight for each little life; THIS is rescue. Special thanks to all of our supporters for making this day possible, and to Dr. Goh and technicians at Fix Our Ferals for coming in on their day off to help Quintus. #NoPawsLeftBehind #RescueDoneRight #K911ToTheRescue #SpecialCauseForK911SpecialPaws
