Just got home from Marysville..had some problems with the brakes today but the Junkyard Dog Hardtop came home a winner again. Got some work to do this week to be ready for Placerville next week..time for a couple beers and some sleep

Finally scale day at Junkyard Dog Hardtop World Headquarters..this thing is about ready to hit the track. Had to add some lead to make it weigh 2800 lbs with dr...iver. The numbers you see is with very low fuel but 14 lbs on the fuel cell to simulate 1/2 tank and no mud. Joel weighs 185 lbs. so its 2785 with him in it has it sits..little mud and some fuel it will be right there. See more

Sanderson Headers in SSF did a very nice job on coating the headers and mufflers for a very fair price. These headers have not been hit in 3 years of racing now... that they are coated I wonder what the over/under bet is on how long it takes before they get smacked..should work on getting a spare set now.. On todays episode of Junkyard Dog Hardtop World Headquarters Tommy came over and changed the wrap on the upper half of the doors..it came unglued in all the lit...te nooks and crannies. I made a overflow bottle mounting plate out of a chunk of stainless I had in the scrap pile. Came out pretty good..stainless hardware on the way. The season is coming and the clock is ticking..lots to do See more

So I had all the race car parts on my bench installed on my car..cleaned my bench..life was good ..for about two hours..now I got shit all tore apart again..thi...s pic shows the door bars that are the same on both sides..1.625 dom .125 wall has are the front and rear uprights that came on the car when I got it..I cut the front and rear off and used .095...093? 4130 moly for front down tubes and rear x brace. Junkyard Dog Hardtop is finally standing on its front paws for the first time in a couple months..the surgery is complete and reassembled. The kingpin boss take...s a insert has seen in the pics..they range from zero degrees that is in the car right now with options for .5,1.0, and 1.5 degrees of angle..the pic is of the left front that adjusts caster split and the right front boss is turned 90 degrees from this and adjusts the right front camber. The Bicknell steering arms hit the drop on the axle so they had to be modified to sit closer to the spindle..(thanks again John Santamauro) in doing so the lower zirk fitting would not fit so I massaged the inside of the arm for clearance..nothing ever bolts right on..ever..never..cut to fit is pretty much standard procedure on this car..tommorow is spruce up day..Tom Johnson is gonna clean up the wrap while I install the radiator and fab a overflow bottle mount..next week is scale and alignment then this dog is ready to hunt. Paint work is done on the Junkyard Dog Hardtop chassis..time for final assembly on the new front end. Its been a long road but this is gonna happen finally..lets hope it works. The stopwatch dont lie..looking for more corner speed..updates this weekend stay tuned kids..#refusetolose

Got the right side of the front frame sanded and painted tonight..the goal was the whole thing but taping everything off and sanding took a while..plus I had to finish the beer to cover the oil pan..
