#tushytuesday is a thing :)

If you know me or have been following along for a while you might know that I have a lemon tree. I love using them in my shoots so it's always fun when that's a request! The vibrant color is delicious and they smell soooo nice in the water. Aroma therapy is an added bonus :). This gorgeous mama is due this month!

I'd say we have fun in the studio . It's not always about being serious and dramatic ;)

Got to photograph another gorgeous mama-to-be a couple weeks ago! It's been fun connecting with other expecting moms now that I am one too! Plus I can much better relate now to how hard it is to get into some of these poses :P. Congrats Anay!

I'm going to be sharing images from this shoot for a while . Tentatively going on maternity leave soon, but I'm already starting to book for when I'm back in August! Snag your summer spot while there are some left :).

I am getting so excited for my studio space opening next month! Up until now I've been shooting boudoir in my living room. While I've been super lucky to have the ability to do that, with two dogs and a baby on the way, getting the house client ready is going to get tougher and tougher, and I really want everyone who comes to me for boudoir photos to have a beautiful, comfy experience where they are my sole focus. And so - the studio! I'll be sharing updates in stories when I start setting it up in a couple weeks .

I'm case you didn't know, I don't just do flower baths ;)

I hear these terms thrown around a lot - "capturing moments" "what a great moment", "wedding moments" etc. I think these phrases might mean different things to different people. To me, what these phrases all mean is - an *unscripted * moment in time. Something that just happened, organically, on your wedding day, and was documented in a photo. I tend to believe that moments on important days all hold some amount of value simply because they bring that day back to us when we s...ee them. It's great if that moment is pretty, or tells a story. Even better, though, is a moment that holds special meaning to the couple. As documentary photographers, while we aren't always privy to the inner workings of our clients' emotions, we try to get to know you a bit in advance for this specific reason. So we know what matters to YOU. And if we're watchful and attentive on the wedding day, hopefully we can snag a few of those meaningful moments for you. Here I've put together a collection of moments from Alice and Luke's wedding day. I don't know which of these moments mean the most to them, but I'm hopeful that together they tell the story of the day they got married and will mean more and more to them as the years pass. This look was put together with an inspiration from her wedding bouquet - romantic pink roses and succulents. @obfloral provided the blooms and added pepper tree branches which brought a needed pop to the color palette. If you're ever planning your elopement and wonder - are sunset pictures worth it? It's probably obvious how I feel about this but the answer is YES. Yesyesyesyes. Especially with an elopement, where you have so much more flexibility of schedule, I highly recommend scheduling a good amount of portrait time, and close to sunset if you can. The pictures turn out magical, but also - it's a special time during your wedding day that you can just be together and love on each other and have those moments captured in time. Be in the moment. You don't often get another chance, so I say milk it ;).

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THIS BADASS WOMAN! Actually, I'll let her do it: " After my mastectomy, I couldn’t look at myself in the mirror. I had never paid much attention to my boobs - for a period they were too big (shout out the middle school girls who made fun of me for having to wear a bra), but for the majority of my life they were just small and there. And then everything seemed to pivot and center around them. I struggled with what it meant to be a young woman without brea...sts. What it meant to not be able to breast feed my future babies. But what keeping them vs removing them would mean for my life was so much more profound. So, for weeks I had drainage tubes, I couldn’t shower and then I couldn’t shower by myself, I was in the doctors office every other day. It took weeks of therapy and self determination before I was able to look down at my flat chest, let alone into a mirror. So I booked a photo shoot with my amazing wedding photographer Juniper Spring Photography. I knew I needed to do it; to get so far out of my comfort zone and bare it all. For myself. To see myself in a beautiful, feminine light again. I finally looked in the mirror. And it was so hard. The sharpie from the surgery takes forever to scrub off. My body had been through it. 2 rounds of IVF; 4 different surgeries under general anesthesia ranging from 30 min to 6 hours. Scars, bruises, nothingness where somethingness used to be. But I was still me. I wasn’t lacking. These photos remind me that I’m so much more. I am beauty and softness and grace and femininity. I am resilience and strength and toughness. I am more than my scars and I have found divinity in that peace." See more

Something about this shot struck me as particularly witchy. Like she's calling down some sort of magic from the sky. I also like the way the tattoo on her leg is framed . So much fun working with @lexalenka and @modernebeauty on makeup and hair
