Hi there! I hope you are all doing your best to stay safe. With so many conversations about racism take some time to listen in on how each of us can make a difference. Peter Bolland a Professor of Philosophy and Humanities is leading a conversation on unconscious bias, the untold history of supremacy, and the promise of America a land where all are created equal. The class is tomorrow at Tuesday 10AM San Diego Oasis.

Binge watching, cleaning closets, learning how to use the apps on your phone are just a few ways people have been spending their time at home. If you're looking for something new consider taking up a yoga and walking practice. With links shared in this article. Still stumped. Message me for more resources!
Yesterday, I had a long discussion with the air conditioner repairman. He talked about regaining his health and wellness after age 50. He shared how frustrated he was with his Dad. Who speaks about how bad he feels and yet does nothing to change. Truly wellness is in our grasp. It's time to break down the barriers stopping us. This is a great read and if you're stuck this might help!
My work as a gerontologist is inspired by gaps in services first it was transportation. Then brain health, dating, and entrepreneurship. With each service there has always been one obstacle. Getting the information into the hands of those who will benefit from information and resources. During the COVID-19 stay at home order I've had time to think, brainstorm, take a deep dive, and solve the delivery of accurate information. In honor of Older Americans Month I've launched Advocates For Aging TV. The channel is available on YouTube and features brief segments on information and resources to make the best of the time we have. In this segment learn tips on how to stay safe as the COVID-19 restrictions are eased and this week's virtual classes.

This is my favorite infographic on the psychology of color. As a gerontologist and social media practitioner I value the power of color. Join me today April 29th as I take Class 143 History of Color in Art with San Diego Oasis at 1:00PM. Instructor Julia Fister, MFA will discuss the unusual, funny and sometimes strange stories of your favorite colors. She will take a look at the science behind them and how they forever changed the course of art and history. Sounds amazing, right? The cost $5.00. If you are marketing to the age 50+ market and related segments invest $5 and one hour of your time today. Register now: http://sandiegooasis.org
As many of you know for a time New Zealand was home! I will always claim the country that taught me so much about global politics and their implications. In 2020 I’m thrilled to see them take their rightful place as a global leader. I hope these words inspire your day. Oh and BTW remember the Rainbow Warrior.
As you talk to friends let them know San Diego is offering adults age 65+ easier access to prepared meals. If you are reducing your risk of Coronavirus by shopping less, message me to learn more.
While the movie Home Alone was funny. Being Home Alone does have its drawbacks too. Boost your brain health by joining the University of Southern California Student Senior Connection. This is an excellent way to build a social network as you actively flatten the curve of the Coronavirus by staying home. Message me if you have questions about the program.
