3.22.20, what would have been Emily and Chase’s wedding date. After planning for a year and a half, the couple had to postpone due to COVID-19. This was my first couple that was heavily impacted by this terrible crisis. We went on a rollercoaster, as advisories changed throughout the week. From a glimmer of hope that the wedding could move forward since they were under 250 people, as advised by the CDC, to having guests cancel due to fear, to seeing the advisory rapidly chang...e to under 50 people, then under 10 people, to no social gatherings at all. Disappointment isn’t a large enough word to describe the emotions attached. Through all the devastation, something remained clear about the couple’s character We’re not going to do what the CDC isn’t recommending, she said. No matter how much they had been looking forward to the day for over a year, they were not going to put their friends, family or vendor’s health on the line for the sake of their weddingeven when they had the opportunity to.
