A lot in the works right now, so my social media game has been slipping, but I'm so excited to get this new La Mesa home under contract and into escrow! These clients sold their home in Los Angeles and were so excited to move to San Diego to be closer to their grandchildren, then the pandemic hit. Being "high risk" & out of the area, we did virtual walkthroughs, video tours, and ultimately found them the perfect home without even seeing it in person! ... Once the preliminary negotiations were sorted out & we were close to making a deal happen, they came down and viewed it themselves in person. We explained our remodel ideas and they walked away completely stoked on the home! For the remodel, we're going to create a massive master suite in addition to some other cosmetic updates that I'll be sure to share with you when it's finished! My personal favorite, the Craftsman Home favors simplistic style and quality materials. It nods to the sanctuary of home without the sometimes over-the-top extravagance of other period homes like the Victorian. The craftsman home is characterized by wood paneling, large porches, open beams, and stone or brick chimneys. Inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement, these homes were intended to feel handmade in direct opposition to the industrial era. You can find craftsman... homes all over San Diego, however the Marston House is probably the most iconic built originally in 1905.
