As I write this, I am feeling a palpable sense of relief. Relief not because we are guaranteed less challenging times in 2021 but because I have a newly found confidence in our collective ability to persevere in the face of adversity. To say the cards were stacked against us in 2020 would be an understatement but one thing is for sure, we answered the bell. And now, as we move forward, we do so with an understanding that anything can happen in life and we should cherish our h...ealth, loved ones and democracy. Some of the lessons we have learned will manifest a new reality in how we approach our lives. While there is no doubt that we humans need social connectivity, we also now understand that it can be dangerous to sit idly by while others make decisions for us. To be independent and self-sufficient ensures that we are prepared when things go awry. With determination to spread our wings, and also return to normalcy, we welcome 2021!
