Fabrice Spies the Artis...t Born and raised in the South of France, Fabrice Spies started painting at the age of 13. Continually inspired by his locale, his earliest work depicts the colors and movement of lavender fields and Provençal landscapes. Following his move to the US in 1998, Fabrice began a series of historical landmarks and architectural landscapes. His current work incorporates scenes from his current home, with notable references to the Southern California Coast. A desire to not only create, but to challenge his technique in new ways, remain his motivation. About the Work Of the many components to his artwork, precision and attention to detail are most prominent. To the viewer, color, light, and space appear effortlessly. Nevertheless, every painting represents countless hours of commitment. Fabrice signs each with bibi*, his nickname from childhood. I'd like to introduce you to TOM SWIMM An artist whose life has been guided by many creative pursuits, Tom develope...d his self-taught painting methods by experimenting with various techniques and by studying the great works of Van Gogh, Hopper, Gaugin, Cezanne and Monet. Born and raised on the East Coast, he had a successful career as an advertising commercial artist in New York, then resettled in southern California with his wife and son in 1982. Inspired by the light and landscape of Laguna, he renewed his passion for painting and was accepted for his first exhibition in the Festival Of Arts in 1988. To seek inspiration, the artist travels extensively, working from photos and sketches that he uses for reference then creates his original oils in his studio in Laguna Beach, California.
