It is also where I heard Ed Ettinghausen speak about his failure that lead to him h...olding world records. "I hate every minute of training. But I said, 'don't quit.' Suffer now and live like a champion." -Muhammad Ali How many of us quit just before we make it to the top? ... I've seen it time and time again when coaching people. We all have so much potential that we are not tapping into. Whether you have fitness, business, relationship, work, or any other goal that you want to achieve, always think about the finish line. Put in the dues now and when the time comes to look back and see how much progress you made by overcoming doubts, getting past obstacles, and enduring hardship, you'll be glad you took the journey to success and the results will have been that much sweeter. I believe in you! Happy early halloween! This weekend will be about conquering your fears! I'm not talking about ghouls and ghosts, but your actual real life fears. Are you afraid of being alone? Are you afraid of love or maybe not finding love? Are you afraid of missing out on events? There are many things to be fearful of that aren't exactly physical. Many of these have to do with our own cognitive thinking. Try to combat your fears through slow exposure or if that doesn't apply, write out your fears and explain to yourself why you would have them. Identify why and work out how you will fix these fears. I am just a DM away from helping you. You're not alone!

We are approaching the new year. Can you believe it? I hope that despite these current circumstances, you were able to at least accomplish a few of your goals. No shame if you didn't! There was a lot going on this year that has been out of our control, even mine! I thought that now would be the time to update your goals for next year. Or at the least, consider what your new goals might be. Maybe this year opened up new opportunities that help you financially? Maybe you met s...omeone who can help you achieve your physical goals? Either way, try to think of next year's goals. What will they be? What do you want to accomplish?

The holidays are approaching and all too often that is a time that many of us falter. Halloween is a time of candy and tasty scary treats. Thanksgiving and Christmas are filled with pies and giant plates of delicious food. The holidays are often used as an excuse to over eat and not commit to your goals! I don't intend to make you feel bad about your choices, but I do intend to ensure you're accountable and responsible to yourself!... Eat that turkey and ham with mashed potatoes, but do so sparingly. Instead of a handful of candy, eat 1 piece per day instead! Take care of yourself this holiday.

Cardio can be split up into different routines. The most popular one is long distance running. If you want to be a long distance runner aka run 5ks, 10k, half-marathons and so forth, try these work outs to help you train: - If you're just starting out and have not gone running in a long time, try to start as slow as you can. If you can't talk at the pace you're going, you're moving too fast.... - Walk for 1-2 minutes minutes, run at a slow steady pace for 10-30 seconds for the duration of your run. Get your legs used to moving around. You don't need to run the entire time to consider it a workout. Your body will adapt to the changes, even if it feels like you're doing something small. - Run longer on the weekends! Your body needs to learn how to run your desired distance. The weekend is the perfect opportunity for you to rest. - Mix it up! You can do strength exercises while doing cardio. It may help you build your muscles so you can run at faster pace. - Remember to rest.

Happy Wednesday all! I hope you've had a productive week so far. Stick to your goals! I have a small list of strength workouts you can consider trying out. They can done at the gym or at home! - Squats - never skip leg day. Squats are a great way to strengthen your back and legs.... - Pushups! Most of us have done pushups since we were children in P.E. class. It often gets overlooked as an effective workout. If you find the standard pushup is too easy try a different variation such as a diamond pushup! If you find pushups to be too difficult, try doing a pushup that's higher above ground. Use a chair or a bench to elevate you. - Last but not least, leg lifts. You must use your abs to lift your legs or else your workout won't be as effective! Try a few of these out and let me know in the comments what you tried and what worked for you!

Strength vs Cardio There are many benefits to strength and cardio. Their differences are so vast that you almost can't compare the two. It greatly depends on your goals. There is a misconception with strength that I feel needs to be addressed. ... Strength work outs make you "bigger" and cardio makes you "slimmer". Normally when people think strength workouts, they think of the body builders from the 80s, like Arnold Schwartzenegger or Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Schwartzenegger and The Rock became that way due to their diets. They finely tuned their way of eating and workout routine so that they can be big and strong. A balanced workout routine balances both cardio and strength. Cardio is just as important as strength exercises. It works out your heart and lungs! Two things you absolutely need to continue your strength exercises. Try them out and let me know what you think!
