Joey's Wings provides financial assistance for families with a child currently in treatment for kidney cancer. (Wilms’ tumor, renal cell cancer, rhabdoid tumor of the Kidney, clear cell sarcoma of the kidney, congenital mesoblastic nephroma, Ewing Sarcoma of the kidney or other type of childhood kidney tumor.) We want to help with medical bills, travel expenses, food, toys, and other miscellaneous items that your family might need during this difficult time. We provide the assistance to one family in each quarter of the year. Today is International Childhood Cancer Day. Worldwide, every 2 minutes, a child is diagnosed with cancer. Only 20% of children in low/middle income countries live five years beyond initial diagnosis. In high income countries, 80% of kids will live five years beyond initial diagnosis. Many childhood cancer survivors live with devastating long term effects, a result of harsh treatments.
