Blessed. Today was a very special day. I had the opportunity to do a last minute signup and Triathalon @triathlonplanet @ironmantri with my soon to be be 13 yr old son. This was a early unwanted bday gift for my son. I say unwanted because it wasn’t his request this was my idea. He’s entering his teens and soon to be a young man, so I told him as a man/adult you never know how life is going to hit you. Sometimes it’s kind and appreciative of you and the majority of the time... it is hard, and very demanding, so here’s a understanding of taking care of business even if you had no idea about it. Last words to him was it’s just about finishing and seeing things through and it’s not how you start things but life is how you finish them!!! I’m so incredibly proud of this guy because he had absolutely no training as he maned up and took care of business till the finish! My journey: I was asked what made me want to start this road of self improvement & what keeps me to it!? My answer was simple... I wanted to be the best leader for my wife, kids & family. We have choices in life and all choices determine your future. If you make shitty choices you’ll get shitty circumstances. We know that all the best choices we’ve made in life have resulted in a great learning experience and/or great results. We all make mistakes and that’s just life, but w...hen you continue to move forward regardless of your past or your setbacks is what truly will set you aside from the others. The road to your goals is always a lonely one and the motivation that we have at 8pm in the evening vs 530am in the morning is a great example of what it takes. Everything always seems like a great idea when it’s only a thought, but when it’s time to take action it turns all so real!!! There’s all sorts of methods to get going like getting an accountability partner, announce it on social media, do the 54321 method, videos, music etc etc. the method I use is telling myself The hardest part about doing anything is getting started, so just do it and get your ass going, buttercup! My journey is different than yours and yours differs from mine, but the majority of us want that same sweet taste of victory by hitting our goals or winning because in life we get what we earn not what we deserve.
