Hi Everyone! Dr. Cassidy Freitas had me on her podcast last week (it will be coming out soon!) where we talked about marriage/divorce/shame. After the podcast I did a mini interview with her where she shares some of her favorite resources. You can find more about her podcast on Instagram at @holdingspacepodcast or @drcassidy

Tell the story of the mountain you climbed. Your words could become a page in someone else’s survival guide. - Morgan Harper Nichols The power of sharing and taking in each others stories is so profound. It melts shame, inspires, and dispels the isolating notion of, I thought I was the only one. So take in others stories as medicine when you are in your struggle and when you are ready - share yours as a way to help others through. Big Sur

Ran into my old friend Ernesto (cavfamilytherapy.com) at the CAMFT conference today and ended up talking with him about EMDR/trauma and my introversion :)

That perspective sure must have taken off the weight of perfection! May we all have the same type of self-acceptance towards our own ever-evolving craft as Picasso did for his. Art by Luli Sanchez

Being good at relationships requires two types of courage. The courage to stay and the courage to leave. Sometimes the courage to stay is the hardest thing ever and sometimes the courage to leave is the hardest thing ever. I’m talking about all types of relationships here - friendships/business relationships/ romantic relationships/ etc. Oftentimes people experience shame in leaving a relationship that was toxic for them and label themselves as being bad at relationships when in reality they were healthy enough to have the strength and courage to leave! ________________________________________________________________________Need support in staying or leaving? Happy love day! How cute are they?! Today I thought I would share one if my favorite book resources for couples, How we love by Milan & Kay Yerkovich (@howwelovebook). It is an easy, but rich read explaining the dynamics of attachment styles. Every single one of use has an imprint of attachment style (whether we realize it or not) that we bring into all our relationships. When we couple up - one attachment style mixes with the other and creates its own unique dance. Whether you are single or in a relationship understanding your attachment style can bring a profound level of self awareness and healing to yourself and to your relationships. || @dianewithonen I love her art!

Sometimes the worst thing turns out to be the best thing. Does that mean that we shouldn’t feel the storm we’re in? No. It hurts and is hard. But staying curious and open to the good or the ways it may have come to clear your path offers a bit of hope while your in the midst of it. _______________________________________________________ FREE phone consultation available.
