Already, 2021 has dealt a severe blow. Across the state of Texas, a historic freeze has left half a million people without power and in need of water and other basic supplies, and 20 people have already died. To address this crisis and others that could wreak havoc on North American communities, we are working together with the Jewish Federations of North America to raise funds in order to help those in need. Building on the Alpert Jewish Community Center of Long Beach’s commitment to exceptional customer service, the AJCC has created the J Ambassador Program. During this time of Covid-19, the team at the AJCC are especially reminded of the importance and value of what our volunteers, members and community as a whole bring to the AJCC. It is within this spirit; we ask for your support by becoming a J Ambassador. If you are 18 years or above, becoming a J Ambassador is a great wa...y to earn Service Learning hours through your school and to become proficient in an office setting. If you are a friendly, outgoing individual who is familiar with the AJCC, or maybe interested in learning more about the AJCC, please reach out to Gayle Ehrenberg. A short training will be provided to familiarize you with answering phone calls, navigating the website and safety & security at the AJCC. Volunteer hours are assigned Sunday thru Saturday, between the hours of 8:30am- 12:30 or 12:30-4:30pm. Your tasks will include answering incoming phone calls and/or assist with light office assignments. For additional information please contact: Gayle Ehrenberg, RSVP Program Director, AJCC Volunteer Services [email protected] (562) 426-7601 Ext.1013 alpertjcc.org/jambassador

November 9 marks the anniversary of Kristallnacht. This Shabbat, we remember Kristallnacht, the night of broken glass. Today, Jews face increased anti-Semitism around the world some of which is manifested in violence and some in more subtle ways. We say #NeverAgain to all manifestations of anti-Semitism, including those cloaked in anti-Zionism. Learn more here: http://ow.ly/yyGq50C6Exw
