PROCESS, PRACTICE, PLAY: designed to increase somatic awareness, get us more present, as well as create a space for exploration through the body individually and with each other. The class focuses on processing what is, playing together, co-creating new possibilities, and practicing towards more libratory selves and societies. This class draws on guided meditation, movement meditation, theater of the oppressed, and improvisational movement in order to explore themes of our individual and collective emotional landscapes, individual and collective longings, abolition and care based social systems. A free spirited poet I met a few years ago described receiving Acupuncture like this. I totally resonate with this description. When people ask me what it feels like I describe the acupuncture state as one between sleeping and waking and as a total body high.
