Part 3 of my favorite holiday traditions here in the San Gabriel Valley. For 100 years, Altadena's Santa Rosa Avenue has tranformed itself into Christmas Tree Lane. This is another great neighborhood in our community that has the Holiday Spirit as evidenced by the decorated Deodar Cedar Trees that line the street. The neighbors here take things seriously they have a website (chirstmastreelane.net) and app for visitors. In non-COVID times there is sometimes live entertainment on the street. The display runs between Woodbury and Altadena Drive. It can get really busy on weekends, so I reommend getting there early -- we tried to drive on a Friday Night around 7PM and moved a couple car lengths in a half hour -- so if you can swing a weeknight visit it might be best.

Another fun activity for you and your family this holiday season. It also showcases one of our truly great, tight knit neighborhoods here in the San Gabriel Valley -- the Hastings Ranch area of Pasadena. Multiple streets participate in this light show -- some homes are traditional, some are over the top amazing: there is a giant Jack Skellington! And, my kids counted a house with over 30 inflatables in one yard! There are several nice nativity scenes, at least a couple Hanukkah displays and one house had a band performing Christmas Carols out of their garage! Check out Hastings Ranch this season!

San Marino is known for its great schools, great neighborhoods and high home values. But, it also has some great holiday traditions -- the decorated and lit trees of St. Albans Road and the Christmas Candles of Lorain Road. Enjoy both all holiday season long.
