I have been looking at the CBD and THC industry for the last few months from a traditional retail marketing view. There is a lot of innovation in this market but I can also see there is a need for traditional branding and product positioning. For example, look at the pictures I took at our local grocery store of some CBD products. ... They are behind glass, so a customer can't pick up the package and read it. The Select CBD package is simple and the large block of color pulls you in but there is so little information, I wonder if a consumer will even ask to have the cabinet unlocked to take a closer look? #branding #retailpackaging #CBDproducts #productpositionin

I have been a student of packaging design for most of my career. E-commerce has changed packaging design for sure but it is still part of the brand experience. Check out this packaging for a wallet my husband recently purchased.... It is craft cardboard but it has interesting design details like the machine stitching and the inside reveal of a pattern. It has embossing and a linen texture to enhance the tactile experience.
