Java Frost 08.01.2021

There I sat, stuck in traffic waiting for the red light to change. As I glanced around at my surroundings, there, perched on top of a sickly looking pine tree, was a glorious red tail hawk. He bobbed in the breeze created by the traffic below; stately and calm. How could he be so calm? It is a wonder that these birds of prey have adapted to our city ways. The speeding traffic, the noise of sirens and honking horns. But, in spite of their resilience, there are times when... one of these spectacular raptors is injured, orphaned or found sick at the side of the road. Luckily, in Ventura County, we have a wonderful organization that rescues and rehabilitates these birds as well as other birds and wildlife in our area. The Ojai Raptor Center is a state and federally licensed nonprofit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of birds of prey and other wildlife, and to providing educational programs about wildlife and our shared environment. Over the last few years, Java Frost has partnered with The Ojai Raptor Center to create a line of Organic Coffee for sale on our website as well as at the many events attended by the Raptor Center. Each coffee is named for one of the centers "ambassadors", a non-releasable bird of prey that is used for educational outreach programs through their many appearances at public events. For every pound of Raptor Coffee, Java Frost donates $1.00 to the Raptor Center. It is our pleasure to support the Ojai Raptor Center. You may also purchase Raptor Coffee right now. You will receive 1 pound of fresh small batch roasted organic coffee and the satisfaction of knowing you are helping The Ojai Raptor Center. Want to order Raptor Coffee?
