Hey 2020, what the heck was that?! You really threw us a curveball this year. Needless to say, I'm happy that you're almost over and ready to welcome in 2021. San Diego homeowners had a reason to be happy in 2020 though. As of the Nov numbers, we saw equity growth of 8.3% county-wide (Nov'19 to Nov'20). At it's core, the basic reason for the rapid growth, even during a global pandemic, it a sever lack of supply. Throughout the year, we've fluctuated between .5 and 1.5 m...onths of available inventory. A "healthy" market would have around 5-6 months of inventory. Add in the fact that mortgage interest rates dropped to sub 3%, which created an influx of "on the fence" buyers into the market, and we have ourselves a strong SELLERS market.
