Scientists believe a recent reduction in air pollution across much of China appears to be linked to the county's efforts to control the spread of the new coronavirus.

These are some strange and scary times. Here are some tips in this economic roller coaster. [For other professionals -- if you know more info -- add it to the... comments below to keep this going]. Peace and love to all of humanity - we will prevail. 1. Federal Student Loan Payments are suspended for 2 months w/o interest nor penalties. Check with your servicer (Navient, etc). 2. Home Mortgage Payment - contact your loan servicer to ask for forbearance. Most are allowing forbearance w/o interest or penalties. Believe me, they want you to remain in your home and get through these next few months. 3. Credit Cards - I spoke with Chase Bank this morning for several clients and Chase (and likely other banks) will pause payments and interest too. 4. Scheduled foreclosures for HUD-owned properties will stop. I believe Governor Newsom also did something similar for trustee sales for non-HUD homes. 5. File for Unemployment Insurance with the state. This will not run out, don't panic. 6. For small businesses - keep an eye out for the SBA to provide funding (hopefully soon). Arlen Shirvanian, is a colleague and could help here. 7. Tax Returns - tax payment extensions until July w/o interest or penalties and business quarterly payments deferred to 10/15 (but I know most need their tax refund; so do it now if you need it). Contact your accountant. 8. Car payments - I spoke with Toyota Financial and they agreed to stop payment with no penalty for 60 days. So contact your car loan servicer and I’m hopeful they will be generous. 9. Utility Companies - same idea, I heard they are granting forbearance for no payment. I have been getting calls and emails with people panicking. Nobody knows what will happen but at minimum I would alway suggest you live within your means (not just for now but in general) and keep a family budget. If you need to spend on your credit cards, then do so in moderation and we can talk later. DM me if you have any questions. I wish the best for you and your family.
