Are airbags always safe? Through the years, there have been numerous studies to show that just because there is the safety feature of an airbag, does not mean it should be utilized by all. The safest place for children under age 13 is in the back seat, properly restrained, and away from the force of a deploying air bag. Many times, we see younger children in the front seat due to them being tall or big for their age, but this should not become the new normal thing to do. Airbags are also getting recalled more and more as the years pass and there could actually be unknown damage to yours without you knowing about it! Japanese Auto Center will always make sure your airbags are properly positioned and encourage safe child restraint in the vehicle.

Speed bumps are a pretty big nuisance on the road, but why should we always slow down for them? Going over a speed bump at a regular speed can actually cause tremendous damage to your car! Here’s how: The shocks are responsible for absorbing most of the road’s imperfections. This includes speed bumps as well as pot holes and rocks. The shocks, though, may not be able to absorb the impact of a sudden bump or dip at high speeds. This causes the shocks to bend and shatter, lea...ving the car with less protection. Once the shocks are ruined, more car parts become vulnerable. The steering will become more susceptible to vibrations, which can ultimately cause a leak in the power steering reservoir, cause a realignment of your tires. In some cases, the exhaust can also be damaged. It’s right under the car, so when the jumping car lands back on the ground, the exhaust may hit the asphalt, resulting in a failed emissions test. Tire pressure should be checked at least once a month when the tires have rested after a drive.
