Good morning J&S family! We still have some spots open for our spring productions of Once on this Island and Seussical KIDS! I just want to reiterate that we are dedicated to making this experience as different from virtual school as we possibly can. Our students are playing theater games, dancing, singing, and being as creative as possible. We will also be hosting virtual parties, watch parties, and video games (like Minecraft and Among Us!) We are extremely hopeful that by... late spring/summer we will be able to rehearse and perform our shows in-person in some capacity. As theater people, our motto is always, "the show must go on". No matter what happens in this world, we will continue to sing, dance, and tell stories. And so, we will do what theater people do: put on our costumes, stand on whatever stage we can find, and sing our hearts out! Last night our J&S Teens performed their Fall Cabaret. I am so proud of each one of them. I know the last thing students want to do is rehearse and perform virt...ually. Unfortunately, that is what we have now, but as I viewed this video, I saw the growth in each student. Jeremy is an amazing vocal Director and gives each student the confidence, and teaches vocal and acting techniques. The Spring show is Once on this Island. A great musical with incredible music. Exciting news! For the first time, J&S is putting together a student-run musical that we are calling "Life is a Cabaret" for grades 7-12. The actors will be putting together their own musical filed with songs and sketches that they will choose themselves. This will give the actors the freedom to express themselves however they wish under the guidance of Jeremy, their director. Students will also get one-on-one acting and singing coaching as well as opportunities to participate in masterclasses with professional working actors! You don't want to miss this exciting program! J&S is now offering FAIRY TALES ADVENTURES, an online class to introduce Performing Arts to your child within a nurturing and fun setting. Students will explore the magical world of theatre inspired by Disney through musical movement, theatre games, storytelling and songs.
