What do you think 2020 will change about weddings? https://www.usatoday.com//covid-19-coronavirus/3257364001/
This is why photos are so meaningful. They give you a glimpse into the lives, personalities, and relationships of their subjects. These photos preserve love stories that couldn’t be told publicly at the time.
Today is Loving Day, the celebration of the anniversary of the 1967 US Supreme Court decision striking down anti-miscegenation laws as unconstitutional. This decision effectively ended laws against marriage between white and non-white people. The couple behind the lawsuit, Richard and Mildred Loving, faced tremendous hate and persecution, but they fought for their right to love each other and won. I am endlessly inspired by the love shared by the couples I work with, and today I want to celebrate this landmark decision with this thought: Beautiful things happen when human beings are granted equal rights an opportunities. #humanrights #risingtide #LovingvVirginia #LovingDay #blacklivesmatter #blm #justice #loveforall #loveislove #interracialmarriage #loveisbeautiful #equalrights #equality #equity #justice
To say this is a complicated time right now is a serious understatement. The US is in crisis and a huge part of it is because we systematically take advantage of, abuse, victimize, and disadvantage people of color. We aren’t valuing black lives so it’s no wonder how indifferent people have become when a black person is murdered by police. Everyone deserves the right to feel safe and live their life in peace. We need to make that happen for all people. Show your support through: @blmlosangeles @westernjusticecenter @surjlbc @wp4bl @blklivesmatter #blm #blacklivesmatter #peopleoverproperty
