"Dental care should continue during COVID-19 resurgence. The ADA believes dental care is essential health care and should continue during the resurgence phase of the pandemic, according to an ADA News story quoting ADA President Daniel J. Klemmedson, D.D.S., MD. The ADA "firmly believes" dental care can continue to be delivered safely, Dr Klemmedson notes in a Nov. 17 ADA statement." http://pcols.com/u/9JCe

We would just like to take a moment to let you know we are struggling to stay open during this pandemic for necessary procedures and essential cleanings. If you make an appointment, please be aware that we have new pandemic protocols and limited appointment availability. All appointments made are tentative and subject to change during this difficult time. Thank you for your understanding. ~ Dr. Jack

Dear Patients: Welcome back! Our staff has been out of the office since March 17th, with the exception of emergency-only appointments allowed by the CDC and CDA. We appreciate the patience, understanding and support of all of our patients and we are happy to announce that as of June 8th we are officially back in the office! Rest assured Dr. Tunzi has gone through great lengths in order to re-open, following every recommended and mandated requirement it takes to get us back up... and running. As restrictions are beginning to lift, we are still taking every step we can in order to make sure that both our staff and our patients are safe. While our days of operation still stay the same (Monday-Thursday), we are currently running on limited business hours, and therefore have limited appointment times as we get our office back in full operation. You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example: Our office will communicate with you beforehand to confirm your appointment and ask some required pre-appointment screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office. Your temperature will be taken prior to being seated. If an elevated temperature is noted, your appointment will most likely be cancelled. We have hand sanitizer that you’ll be asked to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in other areas in the office for you to use as needed. Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. Due to this and limited business hours we also have LIMITED APPOINTMENT TIMES. Because of this, all appointments that are scheduled are tentative and subject to change. While this mostly applies to hygiene appointments, it is also possible for appointments scheduled with Dr. Tunzi. As we get back to business as usual, if you have a preferred hygienist we encourage you to try out a new one in order to help us fill the schedule and get back to regular hours. We do have 4 different hygienists. We’ll do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, but we ask that you come as close to your appointment time as possible. Our waiting room is no longer in use. We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have about the steps we have taken to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming you all back into our office as we emerge from this pandemic. Stay safe, well and healthy. Hope to see you soon, Dr. Jack V. Dear Patients: We hope this letter finds you in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety. We are currently still temporarily shut down, but we’d like to update all of our patients on the steps we are taking in order to be allowed to re-open. Infection control has always been a top p...riority for our practice, whether you have seen our efforts or not. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations. You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example: Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office. We have hand sanitizer that you’ll be asked to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in other areas in the office for you to use as needed. Your temperature will be taken in the office prior to being seated. If it is too high of a temperature, your appointment WILL be cancelled and you will NOT be seen. You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, coupons, etc. since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect. Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. THAT MIGHT MEAN THAT YOU’RE OFFERED FEWER OPTIONS FOR SCHEDULING YOUR APPOINTMENT. We’ll do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time. Thank you for your understanding. As of right now, we are currently not rescheduling any appointments that have been cancelled yet as we do not officially know when we are allowed to re-open. We try our best to keep our patients updated as we are receiving different new information every day. We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. We do check our answering machine frequently despite being temporarily shut down. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming you all back into our office when everything returns to normal. Sincerely, Dr. Jack V. Tunzi DDS and Staff

So it's important to remember. The virus is not what is killing people. It's the person's immune response, or lack thereof, that is killing people. That said, it's crucial to boost your immune system as much as possible if you are already healthy. How? Plenty of rest. Drink plenty of water. Exercise, fresh air and sunshine. Multivitamins. Emphasis on hygiene. Healthy diet. Sense of humor? Sure why not. And on a professional note. That includes your mouth. Reme...mber for most people the entry point is your mouth. Sanitize your mouth and make it as difficult as possible for this little bug to gain a foothold. Brush often. Floss often. Mouthrinse such a Listerine? Absolutely. At 21 percent alcohol it's not as strong as Purell but it's better than nothing. Again, your mouth in the entry point in most cases. Fight it there as much as you can. We'll kick it's booty eventually, but maybe sooner if you take care of yourselves. See more

As health care professionals, we all have a role to play in "flattening the curve" in order to follow sound, scientific public health advice to help limit infections and slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus. As per the recommendation of the California Dental Association and as a safety measure to our patients and staff, we will voluntarily close for the next two weeks. Dr. Tunzi will be available should you experience a dental emergency. Our office will close tomorrow 3/17/20 and will reopen our doors tentatively on April 1, 2020. Thank you for your understanding during these trying times.

Hello Patients! If you are experiencing acute respiratory illness, including symptoms of fever, cough or shortness of breath or if you have recently traveled to an area outside the US with known coronavirus (COVID-19) or been in contact with someone who has traveled or contracted the virus, please call us at 818-567-0100 to reschedule your appointment. As a safety measure to our patients and staff, we are unable to treat patients who present with any of these symptoms and ...we require a two-week waiting period for an appointment if you have traveled to these locations or been in contact with someone who is ill. Also, remember that your best defense to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases like COVID-19 is to follow good prevention practices: Wash your hands frequently with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. Cover coughs and sneezes with tissues. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands. Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces, like your cell phone. Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Stay home if you are feeling sick. If you are experiencing any of the above symptoms, please seek medical attention right away. See more
