We know you’re so excited to go on some autumn nature walks with your dog, but for this #FallSafetyTip, make sure you watch out for snakes, some of which can be venomous! They’re preparing for hibernation and may be a little crankier if disturbed by a curious pet! When walking or hiking, if something happens to your pet, be sure to contact your veterinarian as soon as possible. #VCApets

Meet Savina (ID#A122826), currently available for adoption at Irvine Animal Care Center! Savina has been waiting for her forever home since April 24, 2020. She is a spayed female, gray and white Pit Bull Terrier, and is about 1 years, 2 months old. According to staff, Savina is a cute, playful pup. She is fearful of strangers, especially men and will need to go to an adult home only. Savina will need additional socialization and confidence building. She is uncomfortable with ...new people when she's behind a barrier-be that a fence, a door, or a leash and so will require work with those skills. Savina may enjoy a home with another young, confident, playful dog, who enjoys wrestling. Savina will thrive in a home that is willing to engage in lots of positive reinforcement training and patience. If you are interested in adopting Savina, please contact Irvine Animal Care Center at (949) 724-7740 and make an appointment to meet this beautiful girl! They are located at 6443 Oak Canyon, Irvine, CA 92618

Nim is a big, jovial fellow who'd prefer a home with kids 8 years and up. He is social and a good-time guy. He would probably prefer to be the only cat in the home and needs a tall litter box and would like 2 boxes and those boxes be kept very clean. He likes to play and loves wand toys and enjoys hanging around people and being part of a family. Meet Michael, our pet of the week from our shelter partner, Irvine Animal Care Center. Michael (ID#A123392) is a 1 year old, neutered, Chihuahua, and has been ready for a furever home since June 16th 2020. Michael can be unsure of new people and needs time to adjust to novel situations. Because of how insecure he is, Michael would do best in a home with older children (16+). Michael is looking for a patient, low-key home that will let him get comfortable on his own terms. If you are interested in Michael, please contact Irvine Animal Care at (949) 724-7740 to inquire further into their adoption process.

Meet Tinkerbell (ID#A115979), a long term resident needing a home, from our shelter partner, Irvine Animal Care Center. She is a 10 years old, spayed, blue Domestic Shorthair and has lived in the shelter for over a year and a half so far. Tinkerbell (Tink to her friends) is an independent, senior cat who likes her space. She would do best in a household where the children are 8+ and she is the only cat in the home. Even though she's a little older, she loves to play and can ...often be found chewing on a cat nip toy and zooming around the office. It takes Tink some time to warm up and she will seek attention on her own will and may swat she is done with attention. But don't worry-- she doesn't use claws. She just wants to let you know she's a strong independent woman and she sets her boundaries. Tink is a staff favorite and a cat-person's cat. She has lived in a staff office for about 6 months but would really love her own home to rule over with an iron paw. With all that, she needs an experienced home that understands her needs and her personality and is prepared to laugh at her shenanigans and not be offended by her bossy ways. For more information on Tinkerbell, please contact Irvine Animal Care Center at 949-724-7740 or visit their website at https://www.cityofirvine.org/irvine-animal-care-c/adopt-pet.
