Muslim Youth Group 24.05.2021

The majority of us might not have the best relationship with the Qur’an, but this Ramadan, you can change that for yourself. And if you’re ages 21 or younger, we challenge YOU to do so by signing up for this year’s Ramadan Qur’an Challenge! There are two levels to choose from: Mecca (Entire Qur’an) & Madinah (Half of the Qur’an)! And to understand and ponder upon the stories, lessons, and reminders along the way, participants are required to read the English translation... of the text. Be sure to sign-up at bit.ly/mygquranchallenge by this Saturday, April 17th at 7 pm to qualify for receiving a prize! Best of luck everyone :)

We will playing basketball and laser tag as well as having an exciting discussion in preparing for this blessed month (all socially distanced and CDC compliant, of course). ... Islam arrived as a catalyst in the lives of women. Rights of women, a concept previously unheard of, were being upheld and protected. Upon this newly acquired status, Muslim women contributed to the legacy of Islam as scholars, rulers, businesswomen, and countless more. In commemoration of Women’s History Month, we are hosting a joint event with @ichawthorne to be led by Sr. Zahra Billoo and Ustadha Lobna Mulla this Friday, March 26th to share stories of influential Muslim women whose legacies must be remembered and carried on. Join us in digging deeper into the how Islam transformed the status of the Muslim woman overnight and how Muslim women made their distinguishing mark in history. See you all there!

From writers and scholars to activists and community organizers, Black Muslims have played an integral role in fighting for Black people, even while in bondage. In commemoration of Black History Month, we are hosting a joint event with @iiocyouth + @linkoutside + @ichawthorne to seek out knowledge on the lives of three black Muslims who, along with countless others, have always been a part of the African Muslim story. Join us this Friday, February 26th from 6-9 pm as we uncover these untold stories of blacks in Islam to end off this historical month.
