November is here - and that means Election Day is tomorrow! VOTE! Strength in numbers at the polls = change toward the better. November also means Fall is in full swing, and as the weather cools it's time to warm up with seasonal feasting! Happy Halloweekend everyone! Have some scary-Fresh Deals - better than candy, we promise. And this week it's 100% local with crunchy celery, persimmons, late-season strawberries, and the most stunning beets ever! Try those babies sliced thinly as a beautiful addition to salad, pickled to maintain their color for weeks, roasted, glazed, or sauteed. We might have canned pumpkin back on our shelves (and currently *on sale* for $1.99/ea! A Halloween miracle! ) after a COVID-related shortage... but our quick-thinking Deli Manager ordered a case of delicious Sugar Pie baking pumpkins to make our own in-house roasted pumpkin purée for our famous Pumpkin Patch Hummus! Further pumpkin purée shortages can’t touch this Co-op And our hummus just got that much more special Come indulge in the seasonal pumpkin magic - enjoy with... crackers, carrots, chips (we highly recommend blue corn versions, which are nuttier and play nicely with the spices in the hummus), on toast, and in sandwiches all Fall! Want to roast your own pumpkin, too? Sugar Pies are known for their dense, sweet flesh and ready caramelization when roasted and used for sweet and savory recipes. It’ll bring new depth of flavor to all your holiday baked goods and warming stews. Just cut your pumpkin in half with a large sharp knife, remove the seeds (scissors help here), oil the cut sides generously with olive oil or butter, and roast cut-side-down on a parchment-lined pan in a 425F oven for 30-35 minutes, or until your pumpkin looks like picture #2! Scoop out the roasted flesh and blend or mash well with a fork. And you’re ready to go forth and make allllll the pumpkin things! See more

Our chia pudding is lightly sweetened with maple syrup, which is pretty cool on its own since maple syrup is deeeelicious, but our Deli went the extra mile and made sure to source organic maple syrup from a fellow Co-op @maplevalleycooperative In the spirit of National Co-op Month solidarity, we’re proud t...o partner with these folks, who ensure our chia pudding tastes the best it can be (and if you’ve had it, you know it’s pretty dang great, so...).
