The knife has been mysticized and romanticized by the martial arts, tactical and combative communities. On the other end of the spectrum, it is culturally conte...ntious and known to be the preferred weapon of a psycho murderer. I'd like to take this romanticized idea out of Filipino martial arts. My ancestors never trained with blades because they thought they were cool, only out of the necessity of survival.

Glad to be back at the dojo with our first group class of 2021. Hopefully we never have to close the dojo again in 2021. Building back up. See you on either Tuesday nights at 7 or Sundays at 11.

Happy 2021 Island Warriors! Originally I had planned on starting group classes this Tuesday, January 5. However, COVID cases in Solano and in the entire state of CA continue to rise. To be safe, I am going to delay group classes for another week. However, I am taking reservations for private lessons at either my home dojo or at Benicia Boxing & Martial Arts.
