When the hamachi with jalapeño swimming in ponzu is just as good if not be...tter than any other restaurant I have ever eaten in, that is a very very good start. The second most favorite dish of this afternoon was the seared bluefin tuna sashimi. It was simply amazing! It was perfectly seared and swimming in a little bit of citrus soy. Accompanied by my favorite Sakae the demon slayer- wakatake DAiginjo. The space on Burlingame Avenue was gorgeous. And the service was very friendly and very attentive. JYW highly recommends!" (lunch on Friday and weekends) -------- Review from our customer on Yelp --------- "After having Sunday mass, hubby and I decided to come here for lunch for the first time. I called ahead of time to reserve a table but when we got there (around 1pm), there were a lot of seatings. Parking near this area is pretty easy, lots of metered spots on the street or lots around the pla...ce. The restaurant was very hip... nicely set up and very comfy. The host was friendly and there was already a table already reserved for us (with the sign). Unfortunately there was another party next to our table that made it feel a little claustrophobic so we decided to just sit at the bar which was even better. It's always so nice to see the chefs make your sushi upfront. The menu choices were great! You get a lot of choices! We got the shrimp tempura lunch box, lion king roll, chef's omakase, and spicy tuna roll. First off, the shrimp tempura with spicy tuna roll lunch was just $10 so you can't go wrong on that! It came with miso soup, salad, rice, spicy tuna roll, and mixed veggie/shrimp tempura (cooked perfectly). The chef's omakase was good too! 10 different types of fish (nigiri style) and were as fresh as can be. We also ordered another spicy tuna roll (perfect spicyness!!) And the lion king roll... both were amazing! Tasty and very delicious! Other lion king rolls at other sushi spots are usually too big in size that you'll have to eat a piece in two bites but this place has it sized just right where you just pop it in your mouth whole, and deliciousness is what you get.
