Intuitive Touch Massage Therapy

I don't always have days like the meme, but when I do... I am reminded that self-care leads to optimal work performance. When I'm booked solid; I usually have ...15 minutes scheduled between clients - giving me just enough time to wash my hands, get the client OFF the massage table and "gather intelligence" about their massage experience, clean the room, and prepare for the next massage. How many times have we skipped a much needed lunch break and then have a very loud grumbling stomach speak up in the middle of the massage. How many times have we bypassed our bladders, held off on drinking water, forgot about stretching, clearing our head? I am GUILTY! You're not doing the client a favor when you are distracted - physically or emotionally. By not being completely engaged in each massage you give, you are giving less of yourself. When you give less of yourself the client WILL know (they'll feel it). Take a few minutes and prepare YOURSELF: go to the bathroom, have that glass of water, eat your sandwich, lay on the floor and stretch your body. You'll be glad you did and so will your clients. Self-care isn't important, it's essential to building an excellent reputation of giving your best - each and every time!
