The holiday season has finally arrived. This is a busy time for small businesses every year, but this time it's even more intense. The 2020 holiday season is going to be incredibly important for so many small businesses struggling to recover from the hurdles that COVID-19 has thrown their way. On top of having to adapt to this new way of life, businesses are now having to deal with the growing problem of Google My Business listings phishing. Getting your GMB listing hijac...ked can be a headache for any business, but even more detrimental for the small businesses that are already facing challenges. And, unfortunately, this problem is not going away. Sterling Sky’s, Brian Barwig has reported on the matter, saying that there has been an uptick in complaints coming into their Local Search Forum. There have also been numerous postings popping up on the GMB Forum looking for help with this issue. So, what's going on and are you at risk? What is Google My Business (GMB) and why should you care? Google My Business (GMB) is a free and easy tool that businesses can use to boost their online presence and promote their service. IMPACT GMB Screenshot When users search for businesses on Google they will be presented with basic information on that business such as location, phone number, business hours, and reviews. These listings appear on the right hand side of the SERP page in a separate box. Many customers find the information they need with in the GMB, so making sure your GMB listing is optimized is vital.... impactplus.com/blog/google-my-business-listings-hijacked #internetmarketing, #marketingtips, #b2cmarketing, #strategy, #mktg, #digitalmarketing, #marketingstrategy, #mobilemarketing, #socialmediamarketing, #promotion, #keywords, #branding, #nichemarketing

Add a call-to-action to every website article/blog. What is a call-to-action? Simply put, a CTA is a response you want users to complete. As a writer, you use words that urge the reader, listener, or viewer of a message to take immediate action, such as; Download an eBook, Follow us on Facebook, Subscribe to this blog, Join your newsletter, etc.... A CTA is also a way to convert Potentially Interested prospects into Informed Prospects in the Sales Funnel. When the reader clicks the link, they are taken to a Sign-Up form or a landing page that provides downloadable access to more in-depth learning material materials, such as an eBook or webinar. You could produce longer-form pieces of written content like eBooks, whitepapers, 10 step guides, or you could also produce videos, webinars and slideshows. These offers shouldn’t be randomly selected. No, these offers should be based on what types of content attract your target audience. And you can find those statistics in your website analytics. CTA’s offer gives you a chance to educate your readers. For instance, you could provide an eBook on how to use Facebook to market a business. The offer could be a series of training videos on mobile marketing. Or you could offer a free webinar on Blogging to Promote a Business. CTA offers to convert visitors into leads. When a visitor opts-in, essentially they are giving you their contact information in exchange for your offer. Once you have a contact’s email address, essentially they have opted-in to your sales funnel and you can start converting them from prospects to clients, building their trust along the way. It’s a good idea to include CTAs both in the sidebar of your blog as well on every individual article you publish. https://crazysmartmarketing.com/convert-visitors-to-leads #internetmarketing, #marketingtips, #b2cmarketing, #strategy, #mktg, #digitalmarketing, #marketingstrategy, #mobilemarketing,

Planning, content and guest selection are at the foundation of a successful podcast strategy. Rodric Bradford on October 14, 2020 at 11:58 am MORE The new at-home lifestyle brought about by the onset of COVID has driven a significant increase in the numbers of listeners and the numbers of programs in the podcasting and audio-streaming space, and where the channel was a secondary or tertiary option for most marketers, having a podcast strategy is now part of many marketing pla...ns for 2021. Podcasting is still a vast, open space that brands are smart to jump into, said Lindsay Tjepkema, CEO of Casted, a podcast-centered marketing platform. When you consider there are about 1 million podcasts, but more than 600 million blogs, you can see how much opportunity still exists for brands to own their own space, she continued. And listenership continues to rise dramatically, even in the midst of a pandemic, as people are actively seeking connection. Podcasts that offer that ability to connect an audience with a brand like not other form of content can and, in doing so, build trust and loyalty. Research has shown that brands that advertise their products and services or business podcasts enjoy an increase on purchase intent, and major platforms are seeing significant increases. In June, podcast analytics provider Charitable tracked 825 million downloads, up from 600 million in March. But aside from using podcasts as an advertising channel, how can marketers use podcasts to achieve the highest ROI? One option is to recognize that the content can be leveraged beyond the podcast itself. marketingland.com/how-marketers-can-get-the-highest-roi-out #internetmarketing, #marketingtips, #b2cmarketing, #strategy, #mktg, #digitalmarketing, #marketingstrategy, #mobilemarketing, #socialmediamarketing, #promotion, #keywords, #branding, #nichemarketing

The Most Effective Types of Blog Posts by Magazine.Realtor Many real estate professionals have business blogs, and that time blogging can pay off in your marketing, according to the 7th Annual Blogging Survey from Orbit Media Studios, a website development company. Fifty-four percent of nearly 1,300 bloggers across industries said blogging delivers some marketing results.... We find over and over again that greater efforts [in blogging] leads to greater rewards, says Andy Crestodina, CEO of Orbit Media. Bloggers who have a lot to say tend to see the best results. Blog posts that have about 1,000 words were found to be the most effective. But bloggers who wrote 3,000-word blog posts also reported strong results in the study. Also, bloggers who invest more time on each blog postas much as six hourstend to see better marketing results too, the study notes. You needn’t blog every day to reap results. Bloggers who post once a week or several times a month tend to report the best results. Conversely, inconsistent bloggers are least likely to report ‘strong’ results, Crestodina says. The Orbit Media Studios study found the following are the most effective types of blog posts in achieving marketing results, according to respondents: Webinars: 33% Roundups (which invites several writers to address a specific topic): 33% Guides and e-books: 33% Interviews: 33% Gated content blogs (which requires sign-up information from a visitor to read the blog): 33% Infographics: 31% Lists, such as top 10 lists: 31% How-to articles: 28% To drive traffic to the blog, marketers overwhelmingly use social media. Other methods include email marketing, such as newsletters and search engine optimization. While nobody can predict what a post-coronavirus reality would look like, one thing is certain for marketers: digital channels are more important than ever. Online channels now play an increasingly crucial role, as people continue to self-isolate and spend more time online. * Redefine your business goals * Save outbound messages for critical communications * Use omnichannel to your advantage * Redefine your business goals... * Test-drive your inbound marketing for Covid-19 Analyze and measure everything During this pandemic, new search trends will emerge almost daily. That’s why data analysis and reporting are crucial. Learning what pages consumers visit and what searches they perform can help fine-tune marketing messages on the go (see point one) and deliver relevant content. Ask questions like: Who are my most valuable offline customers? How can I nudge them towards online conversion? Which messages create the most engagement now, and can I create more? Do I have relevant information for consumers living in a specific area? Can I identify key workers and offer a token of gratitude? Owning actionable data about consumers is key, and marketing automation technology typically offers this capability and can use it effectively. In times like these, it is about using that power and combining it with smart ideas for targeted campaigns based on real-time data. Today we have the tools to gain insights on what consumers need in the moment and respond with personal relevance at an unprecedented scale. Taking advantage of this will be key while consumers are distancing themselves physically, but remain connected digitally, perhaps closer than ever. marketingtechnews.net//five-key-digital-marketing-strateg/ #internetmarketing, #marketingtips, #b2cmarketing, #strategy, #mktg, #digitalmarketing, #marketingstrategy, #mobilemarketing, #socialmediamarketing, #promotion, #keywords,

How to Improve Your Domain Authority When you first register a domain, it takes a while to build up your authority. There are many factors that are important, like proper on-page SEO, making sure your website’s content is high quality, keeping your site mobile-friendly, and let’s not forget about your site’s loading speed.... However, the biggest factor in increasing your DA is your link profile. In fact, you can basically consider the domain authority score as a measurement of how strong (or weak) your link profile is. Backlinks are the #1 ranking factor in Google. While there are over 200 ranking factors, a strong link profile is the most important in getting your site to rank and increase search traffic. Therefore, it makes sense that the biggest factor in increasing your domain authority is also backlinks. While not always so absolute, it’s safe to say that in most cases, the stronger your link profile, the higher your Domain Authority. #1. Get links from high Domain Authority websites Getting backlinks from high domain authority websites plays a significant role in not only improving your own domain authority but improving your page authority as well. #2. Eliminate/minimize spammy links It’s not just about earning strong links. Not getting a ton of spammy websites to link to you is also important in keeping a high domain authority. In terms of rankings, Google has gotten better at ignoring spammy links rather than penalizing websites for them. #3. Get links from real websites These days, there are people who fake domain authority scores. Yes, it’s possible and people actually do that (mainly in order to deceivingly sell backlinks on their websites for a price that’s higher than they’re really worth). optinmonster.com/domain-authority #internetmarketing, #marketingtips, #b2cmarketing, #strategy, #mktg, #digitalmarketing, #marketingstrategy, #mobilemarketing, #socialmediamarketing, #promotion, #keywords,

Tips for Detecting a Hack Early There are a number of things you can do to improve your odds of detecting a hack quickly: * Visit your site often. It seems obvious, but as the site owner you are much more likely than someone else to spot something that doesn’t look right.... * Search for your website regularly. Some hacked sites look perfectly normal to a regular user while serving up spam and other malicious content to search engines. By searching for your site you should be able to catch SEO spam even if an attacker is trying to hide it from you. Also, click the links in your search results to make sure the search engine link directs where it should, and not a bad online neighborhood. * Set up email alerts in Google Search Console. Google is constantly crawling your site and will alert you if problems are detected, including the presence of malware. * Use a security scanner and set up email alerts. The Wordfence scanner checks WordPress core files, themes and plugins for malware, bad URLs, backdoors, SEO spam, malicious redirects and code injections. It also compares the files on your site with those in the WordPress.org repository, checking their integrity and reporting any changes to you. The Premium version can be scheduled to scan more often and at optimum times, leverages real-time malware signature updates and performs blacklist checks. * Your site visitors are often the first to identify an issue with your website. Make sure that it is easy for them to contact you and that you investigate their reports immediately. * Watch for unexplained spikes in traffic. If an attacker is using your site to host malicious content, they are likely going to drive traffic to it. An unexplained increase in site traffic may indicate a hacked site. 3 Things Online Businesses Must Consider to Grow and Thrive Innovative marketing strategies are helping companies evolve and scale. 1. Get your marketing strategy right With the immense potential available to entrepreneurs in the digital realm, businesses now have access to even larger audiences, making the ability to scale far more feasible. An average social media user spends around several hours per day learning from, or connecting with, like-minded people. That's why bus...iness coach Scott Oldford, author of The Nuclear Effect, identifies marketing as the top pillar of scaling a seven-plus-figure online business. 2. Lend a human face to your brand It’s all too easy to overlook and neglect our intrinsic need for one-to-one contact in the modern world. Human touch sometimes gets lost in the sheer force of numbers on social media, but as VIP Laser owner Pierina Montano advised in a recent conversation, you ignore it at your peril if you’re serious about building your brand. She also emphasized that making a personal connection with your customers is intrinsic to growth, both online and off, and that she uses social media to educate and engage with her patients, which has helped her reinforce the personal connection. 3. Focus on customer service Customer service is your organization’s foundation, so make sure it’s stable. Everything has gone digital, but it’s a mistake to think that customer service stops at engagement, explains Anthony Haddad, CEO of Yummy Marketing, who I had a chance to catch up with while writing this article. If anything, that is where customer service begins, and you have to translate that into your brand experience.
