Talking with a friend who is a State Farm Agent this last week and he said State Farm did a large increase on their Auto and Home Insurance premiums. I recently read an article about Doctor's no longer accepting insurance and are now charging an annual fee or monthly fee. One of my kids goes to one such Doctor here in Long Beach, CA that is a specialist. This doctor charges $4,500 a year to see him and they also charge $3,500 for their blood test that are done in house. Unfortunately this is one of the only Doctors in his field so he is able to get away with this as there is a 3 year waiting list to see someone at his office. Are any of you facing this same issue? We shall see how wide spread this becomes as Insurance prices skyrocket making them not affordable and then the insurance carrier don't pay these Doctors what they are wanting.

NOTICE Prohibition Regarding Short-Term Limited Duration Health Insurance Policies December 10, 2018 This notice alerts insurance companies and agents that, effective January 1, 2019, short-term limited duration health insurance cannot be issued, amended, sold, renewed, or offered in California. Short-term limited duration health insurance is health insurance coverage provided pursuant to a health insurance policy that has an expiration date specified in the policy that is less than 12 months after the original effective date of coverage. This prohibition is the result of the enactment of Senate Bill 910 (Stats. 2018, ch. 687), which added Insurance Code section 10123.61 to define and prohibit short-term limited duration health insurance policies.

One of the worst exclusions in every Homeowners & Commercial Insurance policy is the following as related to water damage: Continuous or repeated seepage or leakage of water, or the presence or condensation of humidity, moisture or... vapor, that occurs over a period of 14 days or more. In this exclusion if it is determined that your leak that you just discovered an hour ago had been leaking to include a small drip for over 14 days. All of the damage that just happened will be excluded. This exclusion allows the insurance carriers to get out paying for a large chunk of claims related to water damage. Please ensure you inspect your plumbing system on a regular basis for any signs of leaks.
