It is estimated that less than 5% of former foster youth get their drivers license by their 18th birthday. Learning to drive is a rite of passage for youth. It brings new levels of independence and opportunities, enabling young people to take themselves to schools, work, and activities. There are many barriers that makes this unattainable for kids in care. No wonder it is one of the first goals Inspire students have when starting our program. Inspire provides professional driving lessons to our students who have passed the written test. We are in need of donated cars to assist in getting more students driving.
