Yesterday I announced in stories that my office will be moving in February. After moving to our new home, my commute to the Marina (even by car) has been long. I was dreading the day I would have to start taking the bus again (even if that's really far off in the future due to COVID). I started looking for a new office about a month ago and saw about 10 different spaces before finding this hidden gem. Its not normal to have so many options, but since most MFT'S are now tele-...health and not needing offices, there is a lot to choose from. I wanted an office with an easy, short commute. I wanted to be around other practitioners but an office to myself. I was looking for an energetic but QUIET neighborhood. I hoped for a ground floor office to allow for ADA accessibility. When you put what you want/need out there, sometimes the right thing just drops in your lap. I'm really excited that I found this office within Noe Integrative Health; an established practice with a Naturopath, two Homeopaths and two other Acupuncturists. Noe Valley is a beautiful area with lots of shops & restaurants, and our office is just two blocks from the center. It's refreshingly quiet and on the first floor! This room will be 'all mine', SO I will have more flexibility & availability for you, my patients! AND I'll be able to walk to work again! Still a few updates; painting, installing new flooring, decorating before moving... but it's coming soon!! This year has been one for the books. While we've missed out tremendously on time with our family, friends, traveling, eating dinner out, movies... even working due to COVID-19... we know that some good has come as well. We pivoted our business during shut down and made over 430 reusable masks for friends, family, patients, neighbors & folks around the country. We have had the time to focus on self care.... We also started reading & educating ourselves on social injustice, donating to organizations who allocate funds & advocate for Black, Indigenous & other marginalized groups. We know that change NEEDS to happen and it starts with US! With your help, we contributed to organizations such as NAACP, ACLU, Loveland Foundation, Minnesota Freedom Fund and numerous Democrat & Progressive campaigns that will hopefully usher in the social change we need on a local and national level. All of THIS, has been 'educational' to say the very least. How wearing a mask became political instead of a public health concern... Realizing that some accounts you follow on Instagram are actually operated by Q-Anon conspiracy theorists & quickly deleting them while wondering how I didn't 'see it'? Finding out that MORE white women voted for Trump in 2020 election than 2016... all of this surprising to me, upsetting really. So to say this year was exhausting, anxiety producing, stressful, frustrating... well... that is just a start. Anybody with me? Whew... Why not end on a good note? We've got 2 more appointments left for Acupuncture, Bodywork or Cupping; tomorrow (our last day in the office for 2020) 11:30am (90min treatment of your choice) or 4:30pm (30min bodywork & cupping) You can book easily online. Also, WE ARE OPEN on NEW YEARS DAY and have just a few appointment left: Noon, 4pm & 6pm #innergatetoyou #innergatebodywork #acupunctureworks

http:// WINTER \ Happy Winter Solstice, the first day of Winter, the most YIN season. Lately, I've noticed that my energy has been feeling quite low; I just want to rest and stay indoors. When I am home, I have found myself napping quite often, sometimes lucky enough to have my kitties keeping me extra cozy warm.... I remind myself that this time of year is when we should be slowing down, resting, expending minimal energy as it's all about storing our reserves for the regeneration, growth and momentum of spring and expansion in warmer months. The organ system associated with Winter is the Kidneys and Urinary Bladder. In TCM, the Kidneys are the source of our Jing, (Essence) and Qi (energy) in our bodies. Jing is stored in our Kidneys and depleted by stress and illness. We are born with a finite amount of Jing (Pre-Natal) and can build upon this with healthy life style choices. This time of year, make sure to keep your back and feet warm. The low back is where your Kidney's are located, pain or soreness sometimes indicating the weakness of your Kidney Qi. Cold enters the body from your feet (the first point on the Kidney Meridian) and Wind enters from the base of your neck, so make sure to wear thick socks and a scarf when going out and about. Remember to eat warm foods this time of year. Roasted veggies, hearty stews, whole grains and beans are great suggestions for the season. February, March... November. How are we already at Thanksgiving? Well, if you are anything like me, you are staying put and not traveling this holiday season. My partner and I have planned zoom calls with family and a hike some time in the afternoon. If you HAVE decided to travel, please stay safe. Attend outdoor gatherings only, wear a mask whenever you are around those you don't live with, keep washing your hands and make sure you get t...ested before and after traveling. Even with all these protocols, we can't be 100% sure that we have not come in contact with others who may have COVID 19. So for this reason, we are asking that if you have traveled recently, please refrain from booking or postpone your appointment until after you have quarantined and/or had a negative COVID test upon your return. Please understand that this is for everyone's safety. We still have your health as a top priority. We get it. We have missed funerals, weddings, birthdays, and other family life events because of this commitment to keep ourselves and our community safe. If you have also decided NOT to travel and stay safe here in the Bay you are more than welcome to come in for treatment. We are open tomorrow with one appointment left at 4pm as well as Friday from 2-7:30pm. We also have availability Wednesday Dec 2 from 11:30am-5pm, Friday 10am-4pm and Saturday at 11am. You can book easily online via the link in our bio. #staysafe #covid19 #quarantine #stayathome #donttravel different kind of #thanksgiving2020 #novemberalready #acupunctureworks #acupuncture #tcmworks #herbalremedies #herbalmedicine #holistichealthcare #holisticwellness #scienceisreal #trustscientists #womeninhealthcare #supportsmallbusinesssf #sfsmallbusiness #womenownedbusiness #massagetherapy #essentialhealthcare #safetyfirst #dontbeselfish See more
