In order to assess the health of an individual, doctor usually orders baseline tests to make an initial assessment. An eye exam serves the purpose of baseline as well as a specialized diagnostic test aimed at uncovering apparent as well as underlying optical problems. Eye exam also forms the basis of a regular eye care regimen which is essential for all human beings regardless of the state of their eye sight. Color-blindness is a genetic disease that hinders people’s ability to distinguish between different colors and their shades. It is also known as color deficiency and affects both eyes equally. Our eyes have cells that are sensitive to light and its wavelength. These cells are known as cones and are found in the retina of our eye. These cones detect the difference in the wavelength of light and through that detection, our retina is able see different colors and their different shades. Each of the primary colors; red, green, and blue, has its own cone and hence there are three different types of cones. Read more here... https://a2z123blogs.com/2020/10/06/what-is-color-blindness/

The phrase 20/20 vision means normal vision. It is the measure of visual acuity which is the sharpness or clearness of the vision. Dr. McKinney, an ophthalmologist and glaucoma specialist, while explaining 20/20 vision says; A person with 20/20 vision can see what a normal individual can see on an eye chart when they are standing 20 feet away from the eye chart. Today, when pretty much everything is mobile and digitalized, we spend most of our time in front of screens. Especially in the current situation with a world pandemic going on and ‘work from home’ orders almost everyone is taking classes online or working online. This has escalated our screen time and our eyes are paying the price for that. And, this screen time does not depend on the average time you spend on your phone. Consider all the screens you view daily from desktop computers, laptops, mobile phones, tablets to a gaming system, LED TV, and many others. Laser eye surgery revolutionized the world of ophthalmology around forty years ago. Now, almost everyone is aware of this procedure or has heard about it and many people around us have even benefited from it. Even if you have heard the name of the procedure, it is unlikely that you know about the procedure. To give an overview, laser eye surgery reshapes the cornea of the patient so that when light hits the retina, it hits differently. This reshaping is achieved by the means of a laser or in other procedures through specialist surgical instruments by a surgeon. Laser eye treatment has opted for farsightedness, nearsightedness, and astigmatism. Read more here... https://a2z123blogs.com//laser-eye-treatment-how-does-it-/

We derive the knowledge of all the objects in the external world by our sense of sight and touch. Both the senses of sight and touch aid each other and also receive assistance from the muscle memory. H.P. Bowditch, a professor of Physiology at Harvard Medical School wrote a research paper completely dedicated to the idea of sight and touch. The research paper is titled ‘A Comparison of Sight and Touch’. Read more here... https://a2z123blogs.com//new-connection-between-sight-and/

Cancer is not just one disease. It starts with uncontrolled growth and division of normal cells which makes it hard for the body to control. Most cancers take the form of a lump, these lumps are referred to as tumors. These tumors can be benign or malignant. Cancer cells do not have a defined and controlled growth pattern. They can either remain localized to a specific area or spread to other areas which are called metastasis. It means that cancer has spread to a different area of the body from where it initially started. This metastatic cancer is often termed as ‘advanced cancer’ of ‘stage 4 cancer’. Red Light Therapy is a relatively new form of treatment that has the potential to heal muscle, skin tissues, and other parts of the body. It should not be confused with infrared light. Infrared light is the form of energy that is invisible to our eyes but, our body can sense it as heat. Whereas, Red light is also sensed by the body as heat but it is visible to the eyes. Red light therapy is also known by other names like Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), Low-Power Laser Therapy (LPLT) or Photobiomodulation (PBM). Exposing the discriminatory actions has always been a difficult task because attitudes about race, gender, and other characteristics that serves the basis for differential treatment which are not easily observed or measured. Hence for many years now laboratories have been playing a useful role in the study of discrimination under conditions where experience and group identity can be partially measured and controlled, like an example of cleverly designed experiments allow one to distinguish the effects of one group from the effects of information based forms of discrimination.
