IELA envisions a diverse community where homeless, low-income, and disenfranchised members of our community have access to legal services to meet their basic needs and to redress acts of injustice and discrimination.

Six years ago today, Francisco Suarez and I co-hosted a fundraiser for Eloise Reyes, Democratic candidate for the 31st Congressional seat. Many notable scholars and activists joined us in support including Dr. Jose Z. Calderon, Lorena Marquez and Gilbert Cadena. Also honored to have Judge LeRoy Simmons (the Erin Brokovich Judge) with us that night.
