Sharmaine graduated from California State University, Northridge with a Masters in Social Work. She completed her undergraduate work also with California State University, Northridge earning a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with an emphasis in Social Justice and Social Welfare. Prior to her registration as an associate clinician, she worked from 2017-2018 as a Registered Behavioral Technician for youth on the Autism Spectrum. She did volunteer work for several non-profits serving children from 2015-2017. From 2018-2019 she also worked as a Psychiatric Social Worker Intern for Los Angeles Unified School District and from 2019-2020 she took on a Social Work role with both Kaiser Permanente and Healthcare Partners (later Optum Care). Sharmaine is bicultural, Southeast Asian and Latinx. Her diversity and cultural awareness allows her to easily connect with people from many different backgrounds. Sharmaine has experience working with individuals who have experienced varying degrees of trauma and is able to work with a variety of issues including: depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, self-injuring behaviors, family problems, grief and loss, and support families with life skills in managing Autism Spectrum Disorder. She is passionate about helping navigate youth and their families towards a path of healing and fulfillment. Sharmaine’s therapeutic style is integrative, she draws from different disciplines to provide clients with a customizable treatment plan that is unique as the individual who comes in seeking her help wholeheartedly. She draws heavily from Family Systems Theory, Solution-Focused methods, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She keeps a person first, language and strengths-based perspective while holding space in a way that is safe and full of cultural humility when providing services. She incorporates mindfulness, meditation, and empathy and works hard to match a therapeutic style to the needs of her clients. In her free time, Sharmaine enjoys gardening, reading, and trying new foods.

Therapist Spotlight, Ingrid Higgins! Ingrid Higgins graduated with honors from Santa Clara University with a Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology (an intensive 78-quarter unit Master of Arts program for students seeking to meet California Marriage and Family Therapy licensing requirements). She completed her undergraduate work at Bethany University earning her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Addiction Studies. In 2005 Ingrid became a Registered Addiction Special...ist. In 2006 she became a licensed Marriage Family Therapist (MFC 43950). In 2011 she became a Certified Positive Discipline Classroom Educator. Ingrid is certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and skilled in treating trauma. Her variety of skills enables her to effectively treat a wide range of problems, including eating disorders, abuse, depression, anxiety, drug/alcohol use, low self esteem, trauma victims and self harming clients. She has worked for non-profit agencies including Future Families, CHAC (Community Health Awareness Counsel), has provided mental health counseling on a school campus through PVPSA (Pajaro Valley Prevention and Student Assistance), volunteers for A Home Within and is now working in private practice in downtown Campbell. Runjhun Pandit, Associate Professional Clinical Counselor, (supervised by Ingrid Higgins, Marriage and Family Therapist) graduated from University of Mumbai with a Masters in Applied Clinical Psychology, and completed her graduate work obtaining a Master Degree in Clinical Psychology from Loyola University Maryland. Runjhun began working in the field of psychology when she founded and led the Psychology department cultural event Psynerg...y" in 2011. She was the Secretary of the Department of Psychology (June 2012-May 2013). Runjhun is bilingual and bicultural and has experience working in Mumbai, Maryland, and California. Her diversity and cultural awareness allows her to easily connect with people from many different backgrounds. Runjhun's variety of skills allows her to effectively treat Anxiety, Learning Disabilities, Eating Disorders, Depression, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Impulse Control. Runjhun is trained in DBT, CBT, FBT and Group Therapy and is skilled at developing a treatment plan designed to meet the needs of the individual and their family.

Therapist Spotlight, Stephanie Chase! Stephanie is a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist. She graduated with honors from Simpson University with a Masters of Science in Clinical Psychology. She completed her undergraduate degree at San Jose State University earning her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with an emphasis in Child and Adolescent Development. Since 2006, Stephanie has worked primarily with teens and young adults through the public school system and local non-pro...fit agencies. She was trained in the 7 Challenges (drug and alcohol counseling for adolescents). She is trained and currently in the certification process with EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). She is active in the community and participates in different leadership roles, including ones for moms with young kids. She also enjoys writing therapeutic articles for local high school newspapers. Stephanie works a lot with trauma and is able to work effectively with a variety of issues including: abuse, depression, anxiety, substance use issues, low self-esteem, self-injuring behaviors, family problems, grief and loss, and phase of life issues. Special interests include social anxiety, panic disorder, medical related trauma and life transitions. Stephanie has a passion for young people and appreciates the opportunity to support them and their families navigate the sensitive season of life they are in. Stephanie therapeutic style is integrative. She draws heavily from EMDR Therapy, Family Systems, Attachment Theory, Solution Focused and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She loves the brain and looking at the person as a whole. She is dedicated to unlocking the long-term healing that is accessible using empirically reliable sources, such as EMDR Therapy. Therapist Spotlight, Nelson Saez! Nelson Saez graduated from San Jose State University with a College of Applied Sciences Master of Social Work with a mental health concentration. He completed his undergraduate work at the University of California Berkeley, earning his Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in Political Economy of Industrial Societies. Nelson did his clinical training in 2015 at Uplift Family Services. He has a passion for helping children, youths, and their fa...milies improve their self-esteem, self-efficacy, improve family relations, and family communications within a positive family structure. Nelson is registered with the California BBS as an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW #75017). From 2016 to 2019, Nelson worked in an outpatient clinic with children and adults who experienced symptoms of severe depression, severe anxiety, eating disorders, PTSD, and other trauma related emotional imbalances. Nelson has helped individuals overcome their life challenges, improve their overall positive coping and communication skills, and their families lives.

Therapist Spotlight, Martha Perez-Quintanilla! Martha Perez is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. She graduated with a Masters in Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy. She completed her undergraduate degree at Santa Clara University, earning a Bachelors in Science in Psychology with a minor in Ethnic Studies. Before registration, from 2012-2019, Martha worked with a diverse population from young children, families, adults, and the elderly through her work in various n...onprofit organizations and public education in the capacity of a social worker and behavioral therapist. Martha is bilingual in Spanish, which has bridged her work with Latino families. However, her cultural humility has allowed her to connect with people of other backgrounds. Martha completed a yearlong traineeship at YWCA of Silicon Valley. She effectively worked with a wide range of elementary students to adults. All who had experienced loss and trauma such as behavioral problems, abandonment, divorce, separation/ divorce, infidelity, depression, anxiety, sexual assault, and PTSD. Martha also co-lead a group at ALAS of middle school age students who recently immigrated from Central America. In her work, Martha practice play therapy, art therapy, mindfulness, reflective listening, and empathetic skills. She was able to help individuals better process and cope with their trauma and improve their lives.

Therapist Spotlight, Mitchell Gale! Mitchell Gale graduated from Santa Clara University with a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology, with an emphasis in Health Psychology. He is a Bay Area who attended the University of Nevada, Reno as an undergraduate, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with a research emphasis. He completed his yearlong traineeship at West Valley Community College, where he worked with a diverse student population in areas such as phase of life... issues, intimate partner violence, substance abuse, depression, and anxiety. During this time Mitchell participated in with West Valley’s Mental Health Services Advisory Committee, which liaises with the college’s student services departments to provide wraparound care for at-risk individuals. Mitchell is registered with the California Board of Behavioral sciences as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #115000). Since registration he also has experience working with children, families, and teens regarding the challenges of severe trauma, depression, anxiety, and substance use. Mitchell believes therapy is at heart a collaborative venture that affords families and individuals the opportunity to improve their well-being, better navigate challenging life circumstances, and alleviate a wide variety of symptoms of mental illness. Understanding the multidimensional nature of human wellness motivates Mitchell to spend his free time experiencing the beauty of California’s outdoor spaces, cultivating community with family and friends, and exploring his love of literature and the written word.

Corona Virus Update: Telehealth appointments available! At Campbell Teen & Family Therapy, the health and safety of our clients is our highest priority. To that end, we are closely monitoring the coronavirus developments and are taking precautions to keep our staff and clients safe and informed. We have recently taken the following steps to ensure overall health as our highest priority. Practice-wide precautions in place include regular sanitization, avoidance of hand-shak...ing, and frequent handwashing.
