Mom’s beef stew recipe was a hit last night for dinner. Almost everyone had a second (and one had a third) helping. Mom used to make stew quite often in the winter. She’d serve it with fresh-out-of-the-oven home made bread. I had the privilege of serving up the same last night for all your moms and dads. What a joy!

It’s what’s for dinner...

We love getting mail! So many wonderful people in our community who have sent letters our way. We quarantine the mail for a few days first. Then we sit together and read the letters and look at the drawings the wonderful children send us. So nice to be thought of!

What would make us pull over, put the bus in park, press down on the emergency brake, take of our seatbelts and stand up? #ScenicDrive And just before the horses we saw three red foxes scurry through a field and into a culvert. And before that we saw a flock of turkey hens running across the street with their turkey chicks! #ScenicDrive it’s what we do!

I’ll bet you didn’t know Yesterday was National Skyscraper Day.

Miss Mary wrote letters to her boys. We walked them to the mailbox and saw this beautiful butterfly along the way.

This birthday post stands apart! I had discovered, quite by accident, a couple of months ago that Firestone Walker brews a beer they call Rosalie. I couldn’t resist picking up a six pack for our Rosalie’s birthday. She’s not much of a beer drinker but she was tickled that FW spelled her name right!... And it was so nice of #FirestoneWalker to reach out via messenger to wish her Happy Birthday. Cheers Rosalie!! ps- The Beer Rose’ is quite delicious!

We don’t usually have our residents make their own birthday cakes, but we used Rosalie’s mother’s recipe for Potato Cake. Yep, you read that right, Potato Cake! And it was so delicious!! Rosalie has often told us about making potato cake as a young girl. It was her birthday, but her childhood memory of baking with her mom was a gift to us!

Happy birthday Dan!! Two new pairs of socks, two bags of candy and lots of love!

Ya, I’d say he hasn’t changed much. Just the color of his hair.
