At Inclusive World, volunteering as a Class Lead is one of our most gratifying experiences we have to offer to individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of the differently abled. The role entails teaching students the curriculum using person centered practices and tools adopted by Inclusive World. To execute a session using lesson plans, a lead will need to be familiar with the curriculum, adapt materials to enable student learning and curate final... projects that synthesize lessons taught. Any class at Inclusive World comprises students, one-on-one buddies and adult volunteers to assist. As a lead, managing the classroom effectively to enable learning outcomes is vital. The role entails managing classroom related processes such as member-parent orientation and training, program support need evaluations, attendance tracking, assessing continuous curriculum paths, year-end assessments and surveys, and attending Inclusive World meetings and events. Currently, all our classes are offered only on weekends. As we grow, we intend to offer classes during weekdays, on mutual convenience of our members, volunteers and leads. Inclusive World is currently looking for class leads for the following programs being offered in the upcoming academic year: Scratch Programming Class Python Programming Class Basic Microsoft Excel Class Conversational Skills Class If you would like to test waters before signing up to be a lead, you could register to be a co-lead. Inclusive World offers co-lead positions to volunteers across all classes it runs in every academic year. Currently, we have 12 co-lead positions open. The Lead role entails a time commitment of 3-5 hours a week including the weekend when classes are held. The Co-lead role entails a time commitment of 2-3 hours a week including the weekend when classes are held. This week on Meet the Artist: Sanjana! Sajana loves to draw and paint as it is her way of expressing herself. When this pandemic shifted everything to a virtual setting, Sanjana became fascinated with online pictionary games like Skribbl.io. She also enjoys traveling to different countries to see the different cuisines and cultures. She's been to Sweden, Germany, Denmark, Italy, and India. She hopes to give her grandparents a big hug after social distancing! #meettheartist #travel #pandemic #cultures #art #drawing #nonprofit #community #acceptance #inclusion #differentlyabled

Inclusive World 07.10.2020

As the year comes to a close, we can't help look back at this historic year. Needless to say, this year has challenged the entire world like no other. This year has also proved the resilience of the human race. As a small nonprofit organization, we had to quickly think on our feet, reassess and react. We were able to quickly adapt to online classes for our skills development classes. Our Arts Crafts Small Business unit came up with some unique ideas such as creating work kits... for each of their artists to work on their pieces at home. We are also heartened to say that many donors and patrons opened up their hearts and pockets and supported us in many ways. We are happy to present our first ever annual report this year. Please take a look and share your thoughts and feedback. We are optimistic for the new year! We wish you all a happy and healthy 2021. See more
