Good Afternoon, One year ago yesterday, the World Health Organization officially declared the COVID-19 outbreak a pandemic. Next week will mark the first anniversary of the statewide Stay at Home order, both of which changed everyone’s normal. It seems so long ago, but also just like yesterday. I can say, that I did not think things would go on this long. The one thing that we could count on over the last year is change. I believe that we proved we can adapt and persever...e. Next week marks one year of growth, learning, innovation, and amazing dedication to the INALLIANCE mission and those we support. We have had to learn to do things differently and move past our comfort zone with technology, which we can all agree we did a fantastic job. A great round of applause to all of you who made it possible. There is a bit of light at the end of the tunnel as the COVID-19 cases have gone down, vaccines are more readily available, including to the folks we support. I know many of you, myself included, have received a vaccine, and I encourage those who have to talk to others about their experience. Also, even with the vaccine, and recent changes to the CDC recommendations for fully vaccinated people, we will continue to follow the current safety protocols of masks, social distance, hand washing, to ensure everyone’s safety. I want to extend my great appreciation to all of you who made this last year possible with the continued hard work and support to the individuals we serve. We can use what we have learned over the past year to make improvements to how we provide service, conduct work; using this harrowing year as a stepping stone to better things! Hope you all have a great weekend! Andrea Croom, MPA INALLIANCE Executive Director
March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. A time to remind and raise awareness about the inclusion of people with developmental disabilities in all facets of community life, as well as awareness of the barriers that people with disabilities still face in connecting to communities. #DDAwareness2021 #AbilityAwareness #Inclusion Artwork by Eileen Schofield
