This is my son, Charlie. He had trisomy 18. I know this world is a crazy place and this post may seem out of place, but today is 3.18, Trisomy 18 awareness day. I wanted to take a minute and pause, and reflect on how his life impacted mine and so many others. He took my life to a place of surrender and absolute faith that God is guiding my life and is present in EVERY thing, good, bad, and ugly. I think that strength I learned from his pregnancy, and his life, and the loss I ...feel since he left us after just a short 22 days is helping me find calm and peace during such an uncertain time in our world. I hope today, we all take a second and find joy, even if it seems silly (like Charlie holding the remote control) because we are not promised tomorrow or even later today. Love hard. Have faith. Be grateful. I hope this post makes one person laugh, or one mom who has lost feel like she is not alone, or one family hope when they say their baby won’t be born (like I was told every single visit) because then his life and all the changes it did to our lives was worth every single tear, every single ounce of pain, all of it. Day I cried, I laughed, I loved. Today I was reminded that it’s not about pointing fingers. It’s about looking within and knowing we have everything we could ever need inside of us already.
