The Imperial County Public Health Department has announced the opportunity for individuals aged 65 & older to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
COVID-19 vaccination will begin for individuals in Phase 1a, Tier 2 high risk. During Phase1a, Tier 1, the vaccine was made available to healthcare workers caring for and working directly with COVID-19 patients and those administering vaccines. Those in Tier 1 who have not yet received the vaccine will still be able to receive it. Today, Deputy CEO, Ann McDonald, and Administrative Analyst, Lorraine Martinez, distributed checks to local businesses and non-profit organizations who qualified for the Coronavirus Relief Fund Grant. This fund was created by the Imperial County Board of Supervisors to assist local businesses and non-profit organizations impacted by COVID-19. This grant is helping recipients with delinquent rant or mortgage payments, delinquent utility payments, and/or other expenses incurr...ed due to the Stay-at-Home Order related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Hoy, la directora ejecutiva adjunta, Ann McDonald, y la analista administrativa, Lorraine Martinez, distribuyeron cheques a empresas locales y organizaciones sin fines de lucro que calificaron para la subvención del fondo de alivio del coronavirus. Este fondo fue creado por la Junta de Supervisores del Condado de Imperial para ayudar a las empresas locales y a organizaciones sin fines de lucro afectadas por COVID-19. Today the Board of Supervisors elected District 3 Supervisor Michael W. Kelley as Chairman of the Board. District 1 Supervisor, Jesus Eduardo Escobar was elected to serve as Vice-Chairman of the Board. Outgoing Chairman and District 2 Supervisor, Luis A. Plancarte, provided outgoing comments and was thanked for his service and leadership during the the past year and COVID-19 pandemic. Due to social distancing guidelines, Supervisors Michael Kelley and Raymond Castillo joined today’s meeting virtually. Congratulations Gentlemen!
