Our philosophy of ministry at Image Church OC is simple: "And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers."-Acts 2:42 So join us for an outdoor service this Sunday April 18th at 10:30am for a time of prayer, Scripture reading, praise/music, and teaching as a community. We hope to see you there!... Directions: The address to the parking lot for the event is 29222 Rancho Viejo Rd., San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675. Once you arrive at the address you may follow these step-by-step directions to locate the adjacent, outdoor property where the event is being held. (1) Turn off Rancho Viejo Rd into San Juan Executive Center. (2) Follow the driveway until it dead ends. (3) Turn right at the dead-end into the parking lot. (4) Drive straight until you reach the entrance of the property on the left. You will then see a greeting table and/or greeters to welcome you. Safety Protocols: We simply ask all attendees be mindful of current safety protocols and practice courtesy toward others. And as always, if you are sick OR displaying symptoms of illness, please stay home. What To Expect: Our church service will be quite similar to what we have always done (e.g. corporate Psalm reading, prayer, praise/worship, sermon, closing praise/worship), but with the additions below. First, while children are welcome to sit with their parents during service, there will be an activity table for children to sit together and work on their crafts during service (we will reserve empty chairs for distancing). Second, we have rented a luxury restroom trailer for the comfort and convenience of our guests. Third, and most importantly, we will have Starbucks COFFEE! What To Bring: We only recommend that you bring your Bibles, and perhaps a jacket depending on weather forecast. NOTE: In case of rain, the service will be moved online here on Facebook Live. One of the Devil's most common and effective strategies to draw people away from joy in the Lord is the practice of comparison. Here's how it works: Satan's goal is to create discontentment with what God has given you presently in life. And one of the best ways to create this discontentment is by comparing yourself to someone else. Suddenly, instead of being content where you are as a unique individual (and God's plan for your life is also unique in many respects), the Devil... likes to suggest that your life would be better if it looked like THIS person's life or THAT person's life (often through social media). For example, if you're single, and you are trying to be content, Satan will say something like, "Even your younger sibling is married, why aren't you? If it hasn't happened for you yet, what makes you think it ever will? God can't possibly expect you to be content while single can He?" And conversely, if you are married, the Devil might say, "See, THEY don't have to settle for just one person, they can date as many people as they want. Or, look, if you truly want to feel the initial thrill of being in love the way THEY are, you need to leave your spouse and start over." But what if where you are is exactly where God wants you to be, minus any sin in your own heart? What if the real battle is not always our external circumstances, but how we face them internally and spiritually? And the secret to this elusive contentment is not a Stoic detachment from people and things, but rather, is the result of a deepened attachment to the person of Jesus Christ. He is the ultimate source of life and contentment, everything else is secondary and derivative. So don't wait for tomorrow to be content. Don't wait for THIS to change, or THAT to change. Lay hold of the gift of true contentment that is found by trusting in Christ as your greatest good, and be content TODAY. "Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." -Phil. 4:11-13 "Now godliness with contentment is great gain." -1 Timothy 6:6
