Prior to tonight's event read an excerpt from Brenda Wong Aoki's recent newsletter: "But I can’t stop, won’t stop because our stories must be told. I am an American citizen. My family has been in this country for 123 years. We stand in solidarity with the victims of the Atlanta Spa shooting, our elders & women being assaulted and killed in cities across the country, and our children who are bullied as they go back to school. We stand in solidarity with all people of color in... this nation. We must open up the wound and carefully pull out the shards of embedded pain caused by geneocide, slavery, and racism so they do not continue to hurt our children. Then together we must be allowed to heal. Hate is the virus. It must be stopped. We will inoculate ourselves with empathy, kindness and unflinching resolve to stay the course." Featuring Wei Wang, David Hirata and Brenda Wong Aoki.

A Kick-ass story, about faith, relationships, sexuality and spiritual awakening. On her way to her first big New York audition, dancer Bernie O’Connell is tricked into a car and attacked in a vacant lot off the Brooklyn Queens Expressway. KICK follows Bernie from a kickline to A Chorus Line to Hollywood and back as she picks up the pieces and finds the glue to put herself back together.

Hey all! Tomorrow I am showing 20 minutes of Tempting Fate, my solo satire (bouffon) show about climate change at 7:30pm PDT at The Marsh Theater's Solo Arts He...al Festival (which is online so you can see it wherever you are)! The MOST EXCITING part of this is that Giovanni Fusetti, a WORLD RENOWNED pedagogue of physical theatre styles of the Lecoq tradition will be in attendance as a guest expert on Bouffon. This is a seriously awesome treat my friends so I hope you can make it out. Giovanni has been one of my mentors and teachers for many years as a performer and hearing him talk about this work is so enlightening and invigorating!
