Taking a mental health and telepractice workshop today! Today’s take away...Zones of Regulation often allows us to see ourselves and change our behavior, to make adjustments but It also gives us perspective taking, and seeds of empathy. The zones are not just to identify and change, but more about thinking and feeling to sow those seeds and see ourselves AND others. It’s not a yes or no, it’s a how big is that problem. A moment to feel each other’s sorrows, to have some d...iscomfort in order to gain perspective. To pull from our past and put words and language to how they felt, what they were, how it turned out.... Through these activities you/we gain resilience #unscripted #flexiblethinking #resilience https://www.zonesofregulation.com/free-downloadable-handout

Parents always ask me if they’re child will have speech forever. Will they ever amount to something amazing or will their delays challenge them too much...here’s your answer. Never judge a person by their disability. Their passion and perseverance may help them become something you never dreamed of. I too, am proof of this as well. Growing up and still as an adult, i struggled with reading comprehension. I hated timed standardized assessments as a kid, and as an adult i required assistance in my college years, but it was the best thing i ever did for myself. I’m no poet and i did not attend Harvard but i graduated with a Master’s degree and am second in my family to receive a university education. Never set limits. Continue to imagine the best for your children and family members.

Sessions have not stopped since we started sheltering in place in March I am very lucky to still have had amazing progress with students and clients near and far through telepractice. BUT we have good news! We have a new team member coming! Though I will not be providing direct services through the holidays and into the new year, we will be posting relevant and amazing information on FB to help guide parents and caregivers. Adult and child. Bilingual and cognition. Feeding and dysphagia. Keep following! We will also have new events coming in the new year to assist social learning. Stay tuned! Please see our fb page for availability.

Screen the movie right at home! Get your popcorn ready. FYI: This is not a free event but would be awesome to get to empower your little or big one who stutters.
