This is a text that is often taken out of context. Nevertheless, just by reading verse 12 (previous), we can sum up what Paul is teaching us. People today don’t... really know how to be content. People don’t stay at the same address, the same job, the same marriage, or even in the same church for longer than a few years. We are so easily dissatisfied with our situation and we aren’t willing to be flexible. Rather than changing our sails, we rail at the wind. We don’t know how to just be content. Paul tells the Philippians in the passage that He is able to find contentment in all situations--in abundance and want, in hunger and satiation. In verse 13, he reveals the source of contentment: Christ, who strengthens him to be able to do all things. But most of us don’t have the willingness to allow Christ to strengthen us in our discontent. We look for an easy way out of an uncomfortable situation and we weaken ourselves and our Christian walk in the process. Let us ask God's help in prayer: "Father, I know that I can do and endure all things through Christ, who gives me strength. Help me to be content in all circumstances and help me in my discontent to seek the strength of Christ, then I may stay the course to the end. Amen". See more

Una planta es tan buena como sus raíces. Si las raíces son poco profundas, la planta será destruida por el primer viento fuerte. Si las raíces se mojan demasiad...o, la planta se pudrirá; demasiado seca, la planta se marchitará. Si la raíz no recibe suficientes nutrientes, cualquier fruto que se produzca será endeble y pequeño. Nosotros también debemos estar arraigados si queremos prosperar como el pueblo justo de Dios. Debemos estar arraigados en Cristo, lo que significa apropiadamente arraigados en el amor. No demasiado superficial. No demasiado seco, pero perfecto. Necesitamos plantarnos en la tierra fértil del amor de Dios que está en nuestro Señor y Salvador y dejar que esos nutrientes fluyan a través de nosotros por medio de su Santo Espíritu, para que la fruta que produzcamos sea exuberante, madura y saludable. Cuando estamos debidamente arraigados en el amor, producimos amor. Y si producimos "frutas" saludables, beneficiaremos a todos los que entren en contacto con nosotros. Oremos por los nutrientes de Dios: Padre, ayúdame a arraigarme en Cristo, la esencia perfecta de tu amor. A plant is only as good as its roots. If the roots are shallow, the plant will be destroyed by the first strong wind. If the roots get too wet, the plant will r...ot--too dry, the plant will wither. If the root isn’t getting enough nutrients, any fruit be produced will be puny and small. We, too, must be rooted if we are to thrive as the righteous people of God. We must be rooted in Christ, which means properly rooted in love. Not too shallow. Not too dry, but just perfect. We need to plant ourselves in the rich soil of God’s love which is in our Lord and Savior and let those nutrients flow through us by his Holy Spirit, so that the fruit we produce is lush, ripe and healthy. When we are properly rooted in love, we produce love. And if we produce healthy "fruit," we will benefit all who come in contact with us. Let us pray for God's nutrients: Father, Help me to be rooted in Christ, the perfect essence of Your love. Help me to grow strong in That wonderful love so that I can also produce the fruit which is love. May the love that grows in me be an accurate reflection of the love You have for me. Amen. See more

Cuando amamos a alguien, tratamos de complacerlo. Los niños deben obedecer a sus padres, no por miedo, sino por amor y respeto. Incluso los perros saben lo que ...significa complacer a alguien que aman. Un perro que ama a su amo arriesgará su propia vida para complacerlo. Se sabe que los perros hacen tareas imposibles por amor. También la gente, para el caso. Es lógico pensar que si aún los perros entienden este concepto, nosotros también deberíamos hacerlo; por tanto, si decimos que amamos a Cristo, obedecemos sus enseñanzas. En su defecto, si no obedecemos Sus enseñanzas, entonces no podemos decir que lo amamos. Es un concepto muy simple. La ventaja adicional en este caso es que no solo agradaremos a Cristo, sino que agradaremos al Padre. También se nos promete que tanto el Padre como el Hijo vivirán con nosotros si somos obedientes. Simple obediencia. Un precio tan pequeño a pagar por un amor tan enorme. Oremos para que Dios nos ayude a sobresalir en obediencia: "Padre, ayúdame a obedecer tus enseñanzas. Te amo y deseo complacerte en todo. Ayúdame a ser obediente aun cuando mi carne sea débil. Ayúdame a honrarte haciendo tu voluntad porque te amo. Amén". See more

A veces es simplemente difícil ser amable todo el tiempo. Claro, es fácil cuando la gente es amable. Pero cuando te enfrentas a la oposición día tras día, a vec...es solo quieres rendirte. Pregúntele a cualquier representante de servicio al cliente lo fácil que es ser amable con las personas que solo quieren quejarse; no lo es. Puede que el cliente siempre tenga la razón, pero no siempre tiene el sazón. Sin embargo, un representante de servicio al cliente debe mantener una actitud agradable, incluso frente a un cliente enojado y que además maldice. Eso no puede ser fácil. En este pasaje, Pablo anima a los gálatas, que eran un grupo de personas inconstantes, a no abandonar la práctica de hacer el bien. Sabía que era una causa desgastante, pero les asegura que eventualmente valdrá la pena cuando "cosechen" los beneficios. Sabía que, eventualmente, el bien triunfa sobre el mal y que el pueblo de Dios siempre es recompensado por su fidelidad. Pidamos a Dios fortaleza en la oración: "Padre, a veces es muy difícil hacer el bien. La gente lo hace difícil. Ayúdame a aguantar cuando me enfrento a la oposición. Ayúdame a hacer el bien, incluso cuando nadie más parezca hacerlo. Dame la fuerza y la resistencia para verlo". sabiendo que cosecharé una cosecha abundante si no me desanimo. Gracias por tu ánimo.
