Good advice for all graduates...all humans, really.
The end of a very challenging semester. Stay well, everyone. Can't wait to see you in the fall. #ActualClassroomBetterThanRemote
An invitation from teacher Lori for current/former ESL students and freinds: I don't know about you, but I'm getting pretty good at Zoom meetings. Is there anyone, anywhere in the world, that would like to join me for a book reading club this summer? I can set up the Zoom meetings and invite you all. You only need to purchase a book (see Amazon link below if that helps) and have access to a computer or phone for a zoom meeting. We can read it together to work on our pronunci...ation, vocabulary, idioms, reading comprehension and discussion skills. I will lead the meetings once a week, but everyone that wants to can share during the online meeting. After I get some response, we can decide on the best day/time so as many people (from different time zones around the world) can join us. There will be no homework and no quizzes! Just fun, friendship and English practice. https://www.amazon.com/Wonder-Movie-Tie-R-Pal//ref=sr_1_2
Big CONGRATULATIONS to Michelle Xu, former IEP student, current Cerritos College student and next year...UCLA transfer student! Woo-hoo! So proud of you, all your hard work and your well-deserved accomplishments.
Just completed the first week of remote IEP classes. Phew! What a challenge, for sure, but everyone had a great attitude and lots of patience. Thank you IEP teachers and students for struggling through this first week together. #RemoteIEP #ZoomClass
This is our amazing Spring IEP group that will all begin a remote classroom journey starting Monday, March 30th! Thanks for being such good sports, guys! Remember to be patient with yourselves and your teachers as we all learn how to turn our traditional classrooms into virtual classrooms. #RemoteIEP
The downside of a virtual education: you don't get to see your lovely teachers first thing Monday morning. The upside: you get to sleep late and then do virtual yoga with them. Please try this class. No previous experience necessary. #virtualyoga. https://youtu.be/dwTuzd-jw8M
A question for all former and current IEP students: What can you do to improve your English while staying at home? (Please leave your comment below.) #EnglishAtHome
FOR CURRENT IEP STUDENTS: After spring break week, classes are cancelled for one week in order to give time to your IEP instructors and staff to prepare to deliver the remainder of your IEP program online. You do not need to do anything specific right now, except to stay safe, stay healthy, stay positive and "stay at home". As soon as we have your classes ready for online instruction, we will email all of the current students. In the meantime, we don't want you to forget all... the English you have learned, so here are some suggestions to keep improving your language skills: 1) do your homework 2) write in your journals 3) watch TV programs in English 4) watch movies in English 5) read books in English 6) play games with your housemates and if they can, speak only in English 7) watch YouTube videos in English 8) learn all the lyrics to some of your favorite English songs 9) find recipes in English and practice your cooking skills 10) email, message, text or video chat with your classmates and teachers...IN ENGLISH See more
Even the best students need a little Starbucks break once in a while! #coffeebreak #IEPatStarbucks
I hate to butt in on your social media time, but I just had to show you how much fun we had in our conversation workshop today. Topic: Interrupting. #conversationtime #interrupting
We understand. Be patient. It gets easier. #SofiaVergara https://giphy.com/gifs/latina-vrcxO2t1CLV0k
Workshop time: Thesis Statements. Tricky topic, but what a great group! #WritingWorkshops
